Why does a girl who I know to be talkative turn quiet and shy around me?

I've known this girl for about 2 years now she works in a fish and chip shop, she used to be so talkative towards me and was always pleased to see me she even told me she thinks about me all the time, until recently she seems to have gone shy and quiet around me,even hiding behind the door when I enter the shop, yet she still stares and smiles and even waves, I'd say about 98% of the time she is looking at me. I gave her a Christmas card when she read what I put inside her face lit up with a big smile and she thanked me for it twice, when she says hello and goodbye she smiles and closes her eyes at the same time, what does this mean and do you think she likes me.

I think she definitely likes you and there is a mutual attraction. I think she is acting shy because she might be finding herself liking you more and more. I am not saying she is falling for you but the intensity of her attraction and feelings. I think if you are comfortable you should consider asking her out because she might be waiting for you to make that move.
