Sometimes that happens. Mostly course they to arrange joint custody so that the child spends approximately equal time with both parents. Of course the mother is going to be given custody of a nursing infant.

Why is a mother automatically given custody of a nursing infant? There is such a thing as formula and bottle feeding which is perfectly adequate.
