Do you believe men who make women pregnant have an obligation to raise the child as well, even if abortion becomes illegal?

All in the title, do you believe men should have an obligation to help raise a child he made with her to adulthood, if the woman has absolutely no say in if she wants to keep the child or not.

Is it morally wrong for a man to abandon a woman he makes pregnant, assuming this law was in effect, making her a single mother with a newborn child? With 1 income, and struggling to now make ends meet?

Here's my opinion, it is entirely the woman's decision as to whether or not she keeps or aborts the child. No exceptions. It's all about her decision. Full stop.

If she decides to keep the child it is absolutely the man's obligation to take care of that child until he or she is 18 years old. Don't like the outcomes? Wear a raincoat!!!

FYI according to a recent article that I had read, male contraception is really not that far off. Their estimating about 10 to 15 years. Let's see how the men handle that one!!

i think especially if abortin is illegal, men should not have an obligation to at least help raising the kid. in a society where abortion is an option for women, i think men should get the option to reject the obligations. however we need to find a way so women can't abuse this buy getting knocked up, leaving the man and then continue cashing in on support cause they didn't even wanna be with the guy in the first place. single motherhood is pretty much the worst thing right after having no parents for a child.

Yes they should be court ordered to be on the hook for all parental responsibilities just as the mother is. Child support doesn’t cut it anymore. Hands on diapers, gentlemen.

I think that would be fair but also adoption would still be an option if abortion did become fully outlawed.

Yes. And if they try to run away or can't find a job they should go to a prison labor camp with the child support redirected to the mother. It's only fair.

Or, restore abortion as a constitutional right. That would be simpler..

It depends. I think guys who run away should have the book thrown at them. We are way too lenient on those guys.

But the woman chasing the guy away shouldn't expect any help unless she has an extremely convincing case for why her situation is special.

Meaning it was a rape or the guy is a non functioning drug addict or there is a substantial reason to suspect he will get violent.

Abortion won't become illegal in civilized west countries.  But in the far stretched hypothetical then yeah men should be obligated to otherwise it's double standard.
