I think they shouldn't be. The whole situation is ridiculous right now, where men have absolutely no say whether they are ready to become a parent, and women have the choice 100% whether to keep the baby or not, so its ridiculous that men are still expected to take responsibility of something they had no choice over.
It has to be one or the other, If you're gonna force men to pay child support, then you also have to give them some say whether they are ready to be a parent or not. Or just let the woman make the decision since the baby is growing in her body, but dont force the man to take responsibility for her decisions.
If he doesn't want an abortion, then yeah.
If he wants her to abort, but she wants to keep it, then no.
Of course it's fair for an underage male to pay child support for the child he helped to create, whether it was with an adult woman or not. It's not like boys are forced to be 'stuck' with child support unwillingly. As far as I know, they're the ones who stick their dicks in the women who bare the children. It's only fair that the boys should help chip in for raising the child, versus it being 100% shifted to the woman.
@Maik567 Obviously not in many cases, but I'd be hesitant to ever sleep with a guy before we've discussed and agreed upon what will happen in the worst case scenario where I fall pregnant. (I am on birth control but it's not 100% effective so I'd like to make sure that I'm not opening the door to being a single mother just for one night of fun.)
Well if you agree that not in many cases then why do you say "It's not like boys are forced to be 'stuck' with child support unwillingly." When that is exactly what happens in a lot of cases. Condom ripped, birth control failed etc. And then they are forced to pay child support if the girl decides to keep the baby and they have absolutely no say in it.
@Maik567 .. It's a two-way street. Don't stick your dick in crazy, ie. have sex with someone who you don't trust enough that she might do something like that solely in hopes of tying you down. Is it really that difficult to bring your own condoms, that you know don't have any holes and aren't expired, just to be extra safe?
My point is that why don't we change this? I think it's absolutely ridiculous that when you're a man just having sex is treated like you are ready to have a baby, but women still have the choice whether they are ready or not.
I agree with you that, that is exactly what you should do with the way the law is right now, but isn't the whole point of this question to think about whether the law should be changed or not?
@Maik567 well... men are tied down no more than women, should a baby come along. Sure, ultimately women are the ones in the driver's seat when it comes to that but men are aware of the risks. If you don't want to get burned, stay out of the kitchen. (or bring your own goddamned condoms. It's not rocket science.)
Condoms can rip without you even noticing, like I said before. She can even get pregnant from precum, there is always the chance.
And yeah men aren't tied down more, but the point here is that how do you justify forcing the man to pay child support when he never wanted the baby and he had no say in it whatsoever? I believe that the woman should have the right to decide whether she wants to have the child or not, and in the same way I believe that a man should have the right to decide if he is ready to be a parent or not. The only fair thing to do if you force the man to pay child support then you also have to give him some say with whether he wants to have the baby or not. And if you want to keep the freedom of choice for women then you also have to give that choice to men.
It's funny how you mentioned kitchen tho, cause in this example women are allowed to stay in the kitchen and even if they "fuck up" they still get a choice, but men don't. All I want is that same choice for men.
@Maik567 damn you guys are exhausting with how whiney you are with EVERYTHING. I could launch into a counterargument about how unfair it is that women are sometimes 'locked down' being pregnant with, giving birth to, then raising the child of a guy who raped her and then found nothing wrong with it because he found that he just 'had to' relieve his sexual desires. But y'know what... I realize that's pointless.
You don't want an actual discussion. You're simply bitter af and using this as a medium through which you can project your frustration.
Best of luck with that. 👌
I have been having an actual discussion, I haven't whined about anything. And you absolutely could bring that up and I think it is terrible and those women should be given the choice of having an abortion or given financial aid if they choose to keep the child.
But you are so bitter about men that you think that men should just suck it up suffer through an unjust situation, just because bad things happen in the world. I was absolutely having a discussion on this subject until you realized that you didn't have a point and you tried to turn this into a personal attack towards me, you really are pathetic.
Also saying that something is unfair to women is not a fucking counter argument, it doesn't counter my argument at all. It's just you mentioning another issue. That's like saying that people in America should starve because people in Africa starve.
Best of luck with your shitty view on life.
@Maik567 'But you are so bitter about men that you think that men should just suck it up suffer through an unjust situation'
lol. Nah man, I'm not the one who's bitter. I've never had to struggle with whining about dealing with things that I've brought upon myself. I've already stated one counter-argument more than once (bring your own condom) but you're so set on bitching, you've conveniently overlooked it.
If the woman is an adult and he is a kid no. And um the samoan dude and the teacher his mom raised the kids until he was kid enough to. So he didn't pay child support. And if men dont want to parent a child be responsible care about your health and put a condom on your dick its not hard. A man who creates a baby isn't a victim, your the one who busted the nut in her.
Why is a girl getting pregnant always all the man's fault? Women are the gatekeepers to sex. They allow men through the gate and are responsible for the kind of guy goes through. It's her responsibility to make sure he has contraceptives (he has like two, maybe three options). It's her responsibility to close the gate if he has none. Women have over a dozen forms of contraceptives, yet apparently aren't using any of them otherwise she wouldn't have gotten pregnant.
No one is gonna care more about your well-being and future more than you.
Not at all. She was an adult who slept with a little boy. Where is he gonna work? And why isn't she in jail?

The woman should be prosecuted for pedophilia. Not rewarded with child support!
Yes, it's fair. If they are men enough to create a child, then they are men enough to pay for child support.
This is disgusting! Those women are sick.
I think its not. The adult was just stupid for having sex with a child. 100% her own fault and responsibility. If they would both be adults I'd think that the man would need to pay child support.
Those ladies should be in jail.
And I'm against forced child support as is, so forcing child support to boy victims is doubly abhorrent.
Yep you should always pu8nish the raped. Women should also have to pay men a weekly allowance after they are raped. It should be equal...
its time men get equal rights in this area. also to make it fair men shouldn't be subject to the tax that takes care of children that should be a 100% female tax.
If he's underage and she's not then no.. he shouldn't be paying a cent
That particular situation is statutory rape, so I'd say no.
Unless she was raped then no because women in the end after all, are the gatekeepers to sex. So its her fault if she couldn't keep her legs closed
She knew better than to be fecking with a little boy...
i think they should contribute to the raising of the child in anyway they are reasonably capable
If he was old enough to have sex, he should take responsibility for the consequences
If you make a baby you support that baby. Simple as that. Mary Kay Latorneau is a POS !
If he wants anything to do with the kid than yes.
Yesss
