I can't even believe I'm asking this right now, but I gots to know: do groups of women in their late 20s do things like call dibs on men and avoid flirting with guys their friends are interested in?

All ages do that
Gotcha. I don't necessarily mind women marking their territory, but it would be nice to know that that's what's happening. I've had several women claim me in life, and I usually don't know it until I try to talk with another woman. It's always a little unnerving to get the feeling like I'm violating some treaty I was unaware of.
For some reason I always know who is marking territory just by the way people suddenly change
This one guy stopped giving me attention because he thought I was interested in another guy which I was but still, don’t stop trying if I like you
You’re not violating anything. Shoot your shot with whomever you want and they’ll realize the other person who claimed you is silly.. unless they’re like best friends. I lost a friend because I was talking to her crush behind her back… it’s stupid. Especially if your circle sleeps around and is promiscuous. Then it’s like wtf. Who’s left? Pfft.
I don't mind shooting my shots. I just don't want to put effort in to have things get sabotaged in the background. It's super annoying.
Probably as much as men.
