Why do some people not shower but cake their faces with make up?

Not to sound horrible, but on my way to London in the morning, some women will have greasy hair and caked on make up and designer clothes/bags… I’d personally rather have a shower than have designer clothes.

Then the men on the train have badly fitting suits and look like thugs.
Most of these people have horrible attitude problems too.

I'm not saying this is a good excuse not to shower but keep in mind of the following especially since you're only 24. I'm sure many are older than you and might have different levels of responsibility and income.

People are burned out and exhausted. Imagine being twice your age, working for as long as you've been alive, waking up earlier than you want, for many, taking care of kids, living in a place that's so expensive you also can't afford better fitting suits. You take public transportation for convenience over traveling or because you can't afford your own car.

Even if they're younger than the person I describe above doesn't mean their happy or wealthy enough to dress to your standards. The hygiene part might be they aren't taking good care of themselves because they could be depressed from the daily grind and start giving up.

Regarding attitudes. Unfortunately when amongst the public you will find rudeness and bad attitude.

I bet if you look hard enough for the exact opposite of what you describe you'll see plenty of that too. Sometimes we're wired to notice what's out of place as humans.

Sounds depressing. Personally, I have to shower each morning and wash my hair before work. If nothing else, to wash off the smell of sex…lol. Surprised women don’t prefer to be clean as well.
