How do you deal with mean girls in the workplace? There is this girl I work with who used to be my friend. I stopped considering her a friend when she invited me to a girl's night out and then ditched me in the apartment while I was in the restroom. But we still work together. She constantly rolls her eyes, sighs or mutters under her breath whenever I speak. One day, I heard something loud in her direction so I turned towards her and she was staring at me with the microexpression of anger. When I looked at her, she just rolled her eyes, looked down and ignored me. She has also tried to complain about me to our mutual friend who is our Shift Lead right in front of my face. I looked at her and she just smirked. When two of our coworkers started speaking to me and joking with me, she started shushing our conversation and saying we were talking too much then proceeded to speak to them for 20 minutes before going on her break. Whenever I say anything, she seems to get upset or irritated with me solely for existing. But she has also been there longer and is friends with everyone. Our other coworkers also don't seem to notice her behavior towards me and if I took it to our bosses, they would probably not believe me. So how can I deal with a coworker who is a mean girl without becoming a mean girl myself?

Learn the art of sarcasm. Work sucks! I think we can all agree on that. Even if you like your job it's the nature to dislike one's job. So you already have that in common with all your co-workers. People generally like others that make it less monotonous.

So hears how you deal with this woman. 1. Don't compete with Herr. If someone is a retard why would you feel the need. 2. Make a wisecrack anytime you see an opening when she says something. It won't be long before she's the but of all your jokes and everyone will be laughing at her. At that don't she'll shut up knowing she'll only get eviscerated by you. Or she'll snap, go postal, and kill every one of you... yeah there are some drawbacks to this plan.🤔😆

You are right - don't go to your bosses. At the least they won't a girl war on their hands.

Stab her in the back. If there someone else sympathize without critizing this girl. Let them do that. Your the facilitator only. You might find a whole lot of people dislike her if you facilitate.

If you are the only victim then it is a lost cause for you.

You can’t change her opinion of you. I would honestly just see if you can work with/around her as little as possible. Speak to your supervisors, tell them you know you’re a team but you just want to work with other people or transfer to a different department if you can. I’m sure she would appreciate the space too.

I guess the best you can do, is to ignore her. Off course you should continue to greet her, but except, you should only talk to her, if it's really necessary.
