Obviously since guys don't get periods I'm sure y'all learned about them at different times then girls did. Maybe from your mom, sister or maybe at school? Like I'm just curious at what age and how did you learn that girls got periods?

Middle school by health class. But also in towards end of middle school going into high school started dating a girl and ensured her it didn’t bother me and if anything was curious about it. She honestly was shy at first till I said that and then was cool with telling me about different period products, showing me how to use them and even changing them around me as even period sex was fine between us. I noticed every girl after that I was with or dated appreciated the straight forward discussion that it didn’t need to be taboo. And even for last few years I make sure to carry tampons in my car/ gym bags since around female friends and my girlfriend and further reinforce it’s normal. The guys I know that know of periods but not much details or facts tend to be ones that think it’s gross for some reason or that it’s some crazy out of ordinary thing. For both sexes so much easier to just be transparent about it all at any age.
Probably first grade when I started to read around 1969-1970. I probably learned the question mark (?) and exclamation point (!) too. I doubt we were sophisticated enough for commas, let alone, semicolons then.
God bless "Sally, Dick, and Jane" books!
I'd rather not say, I was eleven or so and it was rather embarrassing. Let's just I was extremely afraid of blood and when I stumbled into someone's stained underwear (can't say whom it was between my sisters, mother and aunt) I had a fainting spell.
One of the advantages of growing up in an house of women is that you learn everything about them.
I was in the 5th grade which would put me at 11years old. At the end of the year our class put on a play and I had one of the last lines in the play. The teacher would ask if something stood out in our minds that we learned that year. I was supposed to say what really stood out but a guy in the class dared me to say this. “I learned that punctuations are very important. I am not sure why but my parents got really upset with my sister when she missed a period.” I learned afterwards what periods were about…. lol. I guess if I had a sister I probably would not have done that…. I did not get in any real trouble since it was the end of the year but I was told to stick to the lines…. My parents weren’t quite as understanding…
I was around 11. I was routing through my older step sister's panty drawer and found her tampons. I don't think I fully understood what they were for, but there was an instruction sheet with them. On the sheet was a drawing of a woman with her foot up on something and she was inserting the applicator into her vagina. You can imagine where that sent my hormonal little brain.
I had an older sister and I remember seeing period products in the bathrooms. And of course my mom's too. I think it was about 5th grade when there was a sex ed program at my elementary school that I learned the basics.
Are you already thinking about teaching your sons when they're old enough?
Technically, when I was like 12. My mom went on a rant about how I didn't need an email address because it would help stalkers figure out my sisters' cycles (I know, she was batshit crazy but anyways). But last year was when I really learned about periods in detail/well enough to teach someone else about periods.
I've known that women got periods my whole life. But I didn't start really learning about it until I was in 4th grade. I was around 12 years old. They kept covering it in Health classes. But I always felt they left some information "private". I started to learn more when I was in my early 20s talking to girls online.
5th grade for me. We watched videos on the puberty stage of the human bodies. I knew about myself in that area of my life but being taken to a classroom full of guys to watch videos on females and what would be happening to them in their puberty, had peaked my interest as the other boys laughed or even shared their disgust. I believe I was 11 at that time.
Health class in Jr. High school but I knew more about when I started dating and having sex with women. So I think my age was about 12 or 13. My mom did tell a couple things what a girl has every month but I probably didn’t understand when I was 10. I kinda know more about now but I know there is still more to learn.
I remember sex ed in the 5th grade. Boys in one room, girls in the other. I remember they talked about girls puberty and when they get a period and showed a pad and tampon. They even dipped a tampon into a water bottle to simulate a vagina and see how much it expands.
I learned about them I think from my older sister, much older! I was disgusted at first, because I was like 10 or 11. However, when I got older, I felt more knowledgeable and processed it as normal, as much as any guy can. I believe it helped me when I got older with understanding woman's bodies.
I was in 5th grade. I had a friend who had an older brother that told us about it. I did not believe him.
I think I was in shock about the whole bleeding aspect. I think I pictured more blood. 🩸 I asked my mom if this whole bleeding thing was true, she confirmed that it was indeed true and gave me more accurate information 🤣
Growing up clothing optional, I saw some strings... I'm not sure how old I was but curiosity got the best of me and I asked my mom what the strings were for. I was probably around 4 or 5.
I don't remember when but i think that i have learned it at school, it's not something that i'm interested in, it's gross to me and the majority of girls felt pain from it or had mood swings from it too!
Anyways, it's a part of life and when i love a woman, i love her with everything she has!
@Apple1996 I am agreed
@Apple1996 what's beautiful about it? Bleeding chunks of blood is gross to me, nothing beautiful about it!
It's a mess...
Plus it brings pain and mood swings to a woman!
The oldest would be 12. I definitely didn't know much about them, but I was aware they existed and women got them.
When I was about 9 and my mom left the bathroom door open and her and my little sister was I'm there and my mom had a tampon in her hand. The door was quickly shut and my mom told me it happens every month to women.
Having an older sister who sometimes didn’t flush… quite young lol
Human reproduction in 6th or 7th grade biology class.
Before I was a teenager as I had relatives and a mother who wouldn't hide that kind of thing get hidden from me.
I think when I was in middle school I learnt about this.
Intellectually i knew about them but really only learned about then with first girlfriend.
I have big sisters and little sisters too. But I once dated an older woman and told me a lot. But usually what sort of relationships I have with my latest girlfriend
Around 11-12 years old. I just remember my sister saying that girls don't wear white during that time, which makes sense, but a guy would never think about it.
When my little sister first got hers.. So from a pretty young age..
Maybe 3rd or 4th grade? A little bit before sex ed
Same time I learned about sex in school, can't say I know too much about it
I didn't have any sisters and my mom didn't tell me about such things, I ultimately learned about it in school health class
I learned about them when a female friend told me she was having hers after she slapped me for a stupid joke
When Mom and I were talking about sex in middle school.
Family, Mothers and Four younger sisters, I learned more about periods than I really wanted.
From my mom and my sisters. I was pretty young, maybe six or seven
