Girls, When and how did you get your first period?

I got mine in class in 7th grade in June, I was 12 turning 13, I felt weird and very wet and that's when I knew my time had come😒 luckily it was my last class for the day so I just went home and then when I got home and pulled my pants down I saw the blood, So I just took a bath and then took one of my moms new un-opened pad boxes from her bathroom put it on, wore my pjs and sat on my bedroom floor and ate a tub of mint and chocolate ice cream, while thinking about my lost childhood, and day dreaming about the kind of women I would become in future. Then I told my mom when she got home, she gave me painkillers and then we had the talk.

That’s a wholesome story tbh.. I don’t remember how old I was when I first got mine, but I just kind of similarly got wet and didn’t like it initially..

but then just said “eh. It has finally come. Now I don’t have to worry about it *not* coming.”

And immediately when I got home, asked my female family members how long did theirs last, and calculated when mine would be over.

Mine was a delayed response I think because later around the second one, I was complaining to my female family members of how I didn’t want to deal with it- this “unexpected thing,” and this “unnecessary pain,” and how it “wasn’t fair”and I’ll never be “free.”😂

Then I got used to it. My idea of it was : I’m a badass woman, and if it were cavemen times, I’d be like some wolf in the woods bleeding, and need to hunt for my meal and just power through all odds. (Imagination- wild isn’t it? 😂).

Now I have no actual thought towards it, other than giving it the ‘proper tools’ to be ‘less messy,’ and wait for it to leave and just come back later.

Ladies… periods are your friend. Menopause is the enemy lol

When i was 12yo, it was me on the first grade of middle school as junior, its around 3-3:30pm i felt something came out from my vagina, and kinda wet, so i went to bathroom and after i checked it i saw blood and i was kinda panic and anxious lmao but i knew i finally got my first periodz, then i went to my mom and told her i got my period, she's kinda surprised and excited and gave me a pad.. i even asked her how to put them perfectly on the underwear (lol dumbass), then she taught me, and i went to the toilet and put them on

I was 11. I thought it was gross. Someone gave me a tampon and I had / have no idea how other girls got that thing in so easily. When I read about the blood poisoning you can get by that was a good enough excuse I have myself for not trying. I used a pad, still do. That’s about it. 😊

I was 8 years old and home with my dad during the summer. I was in the restroom when I saw the red on the bowel, I told my dad and he went out and got my first box of pads and then called my mom to tell her the news. She congratulated me and said I was officially a young lady/woman. After hearing that, I was pretty excited to hear that was growing and changing.

I was 13. I called my best friend and told me what to do. I was home, it was a weekend day so I got lucky there. I didn't have any feminine hygiene products at home, so I wadded up a bunch of toilet paper and put inside my underwear. Then I hoped on a bus and went to my best friend's house where her and her mom helped me.

I was 9 in 4th grade. Didn't know I had it. Talked to my sister and friends. They said I was just "wiping too hard". I didn't figure it out until I was in 5th grade. We were watching a movie. I thought i peed my pants and went to the nurse's office. They told me i got my period, gave me a book, and gave me pants lmao.

I went back to class and everyone was asking if I was okay 😅

had my first during summer break when i was 12. really conveniently found out when i was in the bathroom. i was really really uncomfortable because of it that i kept it a secret and just used toilet paper mainly with a few stolen pads from my cousin here and there

I was about to go to lunch at high school. Took my bag and went to toilet and saw in the toilet. Is was when i was 11 years old. My mum used to put pads in case. I didn't even get breast and they were very small. Some girls through that i waa boy. Didn't see improved in college also. It was after I stopped my birth control pill that I noticed differently with my breast. My mum noticed of them before me.

I was 10 or 11 and I was at school I think, don't remember much the place. My periods never hurt so it wasn't a problem for me, plus my mum told me about periods weeks before, it was a pretty neutral experience, hah
