I was 12.

I think I was 13/14. I had no idea what it was at first, I woke up before school and had two drops of (what I now know is) blood on my underwear. I was just confused, but I didn't think much of it and went to school. A few hours later, the two drops turned into bloody underwear (not enough to bleed through to my pants, just covered the bottom of my undies).

I put toilet paper on my underwear, then continued with my day. I was in my last class anyway. When I got home, I told my dad (he didn't freak out like they do in shows) who then called my mom and she told me how to use a pad and when she got home she showed me how to keep track of my cycle.

My story is similar to yours. It was the summer between my 5th and 6th grade years. I went to the bathroom, saw a little blood, but just shrugged it off. When my mom saw it later on, she told me what it was. A few days before that, I had a “stomach ache” (it was cramps), but I thought it was something I ate.
