Girl says she can’t do anything in return?

So I texted my female co-worker and told her if she needs anything to let me know and she told me that I don’t have to do anything for her because she can’t give me anything in return…
what does this mean?

It means she probably feels bad that there isn’t much she can do for you if you help her out. So just make it clear that you’re doing something because you care about her and don’t expect anything back. Tell her she can let you know if she wants or needs help with anything and so long as you’re able to you’ll help her to the best of your ability.

Just explain to her that you know she’s someone who appreciates what you’re willing to do for her. But as far as anything romantic goes don’t take it anywhere. If she declines your offer tell her that you understand but if she needs anything reach out.
