Currently married with kids and I am the breadwinner my spouse stays home to help them. He had an injury and cannot work at his past job so he still gets disability pay from that so it’s like two incomes.

I’d like for both of us to work once our child/children are old enough to be in school. That seems ideal in my mind. But until then, I will be the breadwinner so that my partner can be home.

Yes, I can have a long term & committed relationship without marriage, and I would prefer that. I don’t see any positive difference that being married would make to my relationship. And being married doesn’t = loyalty. Divorce rates are high and many married people cheat. It just means a very expensive break up.

Most people prefer it because it guarantees that their estate management goes to their spouse upon their death, as well has having someone advocate for you in the hospital if you’re not able to do so yourself, ie coma

@petitedollbabee My husband got injured on the job and is now on disability. He stays home while I work, but he gets disability income. Now if this had happened before we got married, getting married he would lose disability. We would have ended up living together but never getting married. Some people can’t understand why we are ok with that, but if you love someone you do what you must to be together. Even if it’s seen as unconventional

I mean, I wouldn't mind being married, but I don't need it to have someone stay with me. Same with kids, if a man doesn't want to be in the photo then ok, the kids are better off not dealing with someone walking in and out. Kids need consistency.
