I recently started dating this guy after being friends for a few months. We work together and he is older.

He is very much a gentleman, and he is mainly flirty over text messages.

The other night when I saw him he was massaging my neck and things progressed from there (although nothing happened- just some PG13 feeling around).

I had a good time but later that night he texted me and told me that I need to let him know if he's crossing the line and that city guys may not have respect but he does. And then he said something about wanting to be a real man for me.

I'm confused because it seemed like he regrets our little hookup. Or that he thinks I let things go too far...? Can someone help me with this?

Sounds like he likes you and thinks he may have messed up. Just keep dating, keep the making-out to kissing and if he really is a gentleman and really likes you, he will ask you to be his girlfriend before he tries anything beyond kissing.

The only other answer would be he is a player and this is his way of getting your guard down so he can go farther. I have seen some guys really play the innocent and it has a way of disarming a girl and getting us to go farther than we would with a pushy guy. Good luck!

he just doesn't want to screw up with u. he doesn't regret it, he's just doesn't want you to feel like he's being pushy or anything. he wants to make sure you feel safe in what you are doing. at least that's what I think. good luck!

I don't think he regrets it. It sounds like he just doesn't want to move too fast and jeopardize the chances of a relationship developing between the two of you.
