My teacher calls all the women who attend her class ‘my girls’ and I find it annoying?

I do a hobby class once a week, only women go. The teacher regularly in person and on social media calls the women that go ‘my girls’ and although I like her class I just find it irritating, as if we are owned by her. Am I overreacting here?
