They want guys like Superman or guys on tv. Or even idols/celebrities! But guess what, they aren’t real!! What is this delusion they have that they think guys like that exist.

I read a lot of the anonymous pink responses on this question and was pleased to see a majority of them took sensible approach to this question. No, a lot of them are still off base with a few things (largely based on thier personal experiences and gender biases).

Understand that all women are GIRLS to begin with. And most of the "women" you'll run into on on the internet and G@G never matured out of the GIRL stage of life. They still envision a man they lusted after when they were 14. As people grow up men and women learn the best partners are seldom the MOST physically attractive. But as I said, these women never matured into this way of thinking. So women want a guy who's attractive, financially well off, socially relevant, etc. The problem is, these women never consider what she brings to the table or the amount of OTHER women that bring MUCH MORE to the table that want that same guy. And the guy knowing how in demand he is saying to himself, "hey all just take all of them"😆. Because again her mind is still stick in 14 year old girls mindset of where life is a rom-com where he only wants her (for some inexplicable readon😆).

So to answer your question these women simply did not mature mentally or emotionally. Physically, yeah. But not mentally or emotionally. Don't get get flustered or upset by it. This is where you're making your mistake. Her inability to grow up is NOT your problem.

Are what they want unrealistic? Men they want (attractive, confident, funny, smart, loyal, romantic, showing her he wants her, protects her) doesn’t exist? Or is it just that YOU aren’t what they’re looking for? Let me tell you, men like that do exist. Nobody’s perfect, of course, and they’re not very common unfortunately, but yes men like that are real. So is it unrealistic for women to want men like that when they are actually out there or are you just upset that you aren’t it? What’s the alternative? Women settle for an asshole, a guy who don’t care to be a good man or a man she’s not attracted to? You think that’s better? I don’t. But that’s always the message from men. Whenever a woman has standards or looking for certain things in a man they get upset and whine that she/women in general are too picky or being ”unrealistic” and that she should lower her standards, preferably remove them completely.

While it's possible that you think it's awful that some men seem to be superficial with women, women seem to think that insulting men is perfectly fine... I kind of agree that a lot of women have unrealistic standards in men, and women think that attacking men in ridiculous ways is somehow "acceptable." You say that nobody's perfect, so when you make a mistake, somehow it's not that bad, but when a man makes a mistake you jump down his throat, and say that a woman needs to "correct" him or "teach him." Many of us men hate the sick, man-hating statement "behind every great man is a great woman," or "anything a man can do a woman can do better." You women really do think that us men can't separate fantasy from reality because we want a super hot woman, but most of us don't care about that nearly as much as brains and personality, along with respect, (not insulting our intelligence levels when we make a mistake here and there, not taking credit for the good smart work we do, not insisting that women are the only way that society moves forward... I think this happens with a lot of people, both genders, that are constantly on the internet. Social media is so fake and people nowadays believe everything. I’ve also seen this with men, they criticize the smallest things about women, from the smallest amount of cellulite to someone who doesn’t use a filter on their photos. They’re so used to being exposed to fake content and then reality hits when they go outside and realize humanity is not what social media has put out and those perfect social media influencers look nothing like their photos. Which is the same for females, they are so used to fake influencers and expect things that are unreachable.

Women tend to search with a much narrower focus than men. They can “aim up” and usually find success doing so, which over time creates a distorted sense of their own value in the dating market.

So when it feels like they’re chasing something impossible the “Superman” type (whose shorthand for traits they want in a person (confidence, strength, moral clarity, etc)

Well good for you for realizing that there are a lot of terrible women and men out there. One big difference here is that women think it's terrible for men to disrespect women by picking lousy women but women think that women are just fine and within their rights for picking terrrible men, and just twist it around and justify by saying that the jerk low-lives supposedly are tougher or had more confidence. I had a friend in college who said that women claim they go for confidence because they mistake sick, jerk behavior for confidence. Spot-on assessment. Women wouldn't know real confidence if it smacked them in face. I have met just a handful of women who thought that men were nice and wonderful and had very few bad experiences with men. They are part of the 0.000001 % of women who are worth a damn. One was in 2012, and said that all 5 of her boyfriends and her husband were nice, wonderful, well-behaved men who never cheated. One was in 2007, she had never been mis-treated or cheated on, and even said she hated "Sex and the City." She said all those women do is "pick terrible men, get terrible results, and then piss and moan about it." Again, spot on assessment. Those two were good smart women. I wish that more straight women were like that.
