Depends on the reason for the disappointment and whom it is directed at I guess.

At close friends or people I rely on; if its a huge screw-up it could take a couple of weeks to a month maybe, if its something minor like being late it'll most likely be instant.

If its acquaintances, then no time at all because I don't expect anything from them to begin with.

For myself, in the past it used to be pretty bad, I beat myself up for the whole first year of undergrad because I failed to get into med school. But in recent years I pretty much just shake it off, I just don't think its worth it to be sulking around feeling sorry for myself haha. I guess one could say I've grown up just a tiny bit.

Depends on how much change it holds over my life. For example, I go to the shop wanting to buy a garlic roll for lunch. They’ve run out of garlic rolls. Im disappointed. But I get over it straight away and find something else for lunch.
Another example, I wanted my father to be involved in my children’s lives as their grandad. He doesn’t want to be involved. I’m disappointed. It takes me just over a year to get over it.

That depends on the level of disappointment. If my grade were a B instead of an A because I overslept and was late to an exam, I would get over my disappointment in a very short time. If I had a car accident because I didn't realize the road was so slippery and ended up cripiled I would never get over my disappointment.

As for disappointment unfortunately it does happen & depending on the disappointment I usually get over it within seven to ten business days or within thirteen hours if it isn’t too bad. As for life it moves on & so do I.

Depends on the size of the disappointment. I seriously doubt I'll EVER get over the royal fucking over I got from my ex-sisters 6 years ago!! It was COMPLETELY uncalled for and COMPLETELY driven by their own greed!!!
Losing that game of pool I just shot a few minutes ago is pretty much forgotten, already except for the fact that I DID technically lose it by accidentally putting the 8 into an undesignated pocket. However, I DID put the 8 in AFTER my last ball went in, even though it was the same shot so, to me, that's a win!

Depends how much benefit I can get from feeling disappointed. I only let myself remember something bad as long as i can use it as a tool to be better. I try not to hold onto disappointment at all, instead i turn it into progress or productivity. When you remember disappointment like trying to be better instead of trying to be enough it makes it not such a bad emotion.

It depends on what it is. I did not get to spend any time at the beach this summer. I have already moved on. 30 years ago I was kicked out of the Air Force because I am colorblind. I really thought I had my whole life planned out. Sometimes I still feel bad about it. My whole life was derailed and it took years before I was able to figure out what I wanted to do

Until i convince myself it wasn't my fault. It doesn't take long, because I always prepare the battlefield I have to fight on that way it's easy to displace responsibility on others. It's highly antisocial but it works.

Way too long. I tend to overanalyze things that went wrong, even if it can't be pinpointed down to a specific reason.

You learn quickly to shake it off and get on your feet moving on, or your going to waste a lot of your lifes happyness.

Pretty quickly in general. Wallowing in the past does not really accomplish anything. Learn and keep moving forward.

Depends on what kind of disappointment.

When I was in my 20s, I needed more time, but now, it's kinda quicker.

The next day, unless its something that hit me very deeply... I try my hardest not to dwell on something negative to the best of my ability.

Chaulk it up to experience. Then, put it in the back of your mind and not allow it to happen again.
