So I met a girl a little while ago on bumble bff on an app to make friends. I moved here almost a year ago and joined the app to make friends earlier in the year. I would say we’ve sporadically hung out once a month or once every two months but she is an extremely slow texter and I wouldn’t consider us close friends We don’t have each other on social media or anything. We’ve gone to dinner and stuff and had like super casual conversations and laughed. She usually rants to me about her family drama with her sister. Like I said sometimes she’ll take days to answer even if she initiated. She has adhd I think and went back to school and that has made her busy. I kind of understand but kind of don’t because I work full time in news and also have a part time job in retail and can still answer texts. Anytime I reach out to plan something I usually don’t get a response for like a week. Once I was about to cut her off until she invited me to do reiki with her aunt for free and she offered that we should have lunch before. The next time I initiated a hangout for us to do a psychic reading and I think she only answered relatively quickly because it was something she expressed interest to me in doing ( it still took her like a day or two to answer but still ) so my birthday was last month and I didn’t hear from her on my birthday ( I told her it was weeks before ) and there’s a possible balloon festival this week in our state. a few days ago I reached out asking if she wanted to go to the festival with me on Tuesday because I had a media pass ( meaning free access ) I sent this text on Friday and it’s now Monday. I’m trying to start setting boundaries in my life. I was going to text her one more time today ( the day before Tuesday ) asking if she wants to go sometime this week because I have a free parking and media pass or should I just block her and move on?

Apologies if I missed it but no where in this post did I read that you communicated these issues to her. Blocking her without a word in my opinion is unnecessarily avoidant in nature. It’s one thing if you don’t care about the friendship at all but your efforts to communicate and hang out with her say otherwise. The biggest issues I see here are her forgetting your birthday and being a slow texter, which could totally be cleared up with a conversation. I always feel like you should do unto others what you’d want done to yourself, and I think if not only her but any friend you thought you were cool with just blocked you out of no where with (seemingly) no prior issue then you’d feel blindsided and probably a bit hurt.
You’re an adult and old enough to know right from wrong. You should know that it’s rude to ignore someone text for almost 2 weeks when they’re trying to make plans.
So did you make this post to argue and defend yourself or to actually get some feedback? Because your response was just YOU being insulted over my response to your own question. Unless I missed it while reading, the most you did not hear from her was a few days within a week, but you exacerbate the length of time because you feel slighted. She is a bad texter when it comes to timeliness, so go bumble find someone who isn’t. Like wtf?
She's definitely selfish. She text you and hangout with you only when she has no other plans, and will do only things she's interested in. It also sounds like you're the only one making efforts, while she thinks she doesn't need to put equal efforts, and she's taken you for granted. I'd stop reaching out if I were you. Blocking her would be the best call. I'm sure you'd make some good friends who will treat you good and put equal efforts.
Yes, I think so.
