Are girls more ruthless when competing against guys?

I’ve been practicing Muay Thai (Thai boxing) 🥊 for a year and a half now, and I’m ready to begin sparring with both the guys and girls in my class. I pretty much know what to expect when sparring against guys, but do you think in combat sports generally, girls are more competitive and ruthless when taking on guys? 🤔 This will be the first time I’ve ever taken part in sparring, so it’s just a little strange to me the thought of sparring against girls. What should I expect from the girls in my class? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thank you.

Women have been taught over and over about how dangerous men are and how awful it is to let them “win” a fight (remember, 1 in 6 women have experienced some form of sexual assault, a majority of which is done by men). So yeah, they know it’s a fight for their lives in most cases, because even if he’s not there to kill you, your life will never be the same. It’s not “ruthlessness” it’s just survival when facing opponents they know can beat them if they let their guard down.

I’m actually 46, but I’ve been doing sports most of my life… I wanted to try something new, and am really enjoying it so far 🥊 out of interest though, what made you think there’s “no way” I’m 45+? 🤔
