We've been friends for awhile now, and out daily and evening routine has changed from almost nothing to eating with each other, sitting with one another everywhere and in the evenings between 5 or 6pm till midnight she watches movies while doing homework, but usually ends up in my arms, or holding me, or falling asleep in my arms, often reaching for my hand, to hold with interlocked fingers. Lot's of hugging and caressing and staring into my eyes, i can't stress this part enough, she will look deep into my eyes until i look back and smile, and she will smile for no reason when near me or looking at me, and her hear races when i'm around. She'll play with my hair and hug me for no reason at all or just to hold me tightly. I gave her one of my flannels a few weeks ago and she asked to keep it. my friends are biased and can give me opinions so i'm reaching out to anyone now.

That is a huge friendship red flag and a total no go. What you 2 are doing is way past friendship and is already considered as heavy flirting.
That is not something that normal friends do. That is already a stage or 2 further in that relationship scale.
I would suggest you pull out and put her into her place. Tell her that it is not how friends behave and that there should be a clear boundary of what is acceptable as friends and what is no longer acceptable.
Time to take that decision to sever that friendship. That is no longer normal.
If we were to attempt dating how badly could that go? or has she already crossed the line further than fixable?
Given that she seems to be the one searching the contact, I think that there is a fair chance.
