why, most of the time, the reason a guy is friends with a girl is mainly because of her looks, or bc he wants something more? they are friends only because the girl puts this "restriction" on, but as soon as the opportunity arises, they show themselves "lustful" or "in love" with their friend

Not all guy friends take advantage of their good female friends. I do think everything is based on looks from friendship to dating.

Your right. If your guy friends our starting to catch feelings for you then that means a few things. That your cute and attractive to them. They are misreading you being nice and friendly as flirting. a lot of people feel comfortable hooking up with a friend over a stranger. Im not saying it's acceptable or right. Because most of the time the woman has got nothing else to interest the man with.
A typical woman's interests, values, expectations are not of any interest or benefit to a man, if anything they are simply a burden.
Your personality is what we tolerate when we are attracted to you, we don't actually enjoy it.

Some guys are lucky to land interesting women who actually really appeal to men on an emotional and intellectual level, but those women are very rare.

I don't think a woman should interest a man with anything, they simply may have things and tastes in common or not.
a person may have an interesting personality or not, it does not change whether they're a woman or a man and the "interesting personality" is subjective, which changes from person to person

Having things and tastes in common is the "being interesting" part, women and men rarely have things in common so there is little motivation for us to actually spend time with each other.

Most of my female friends I lost contact with after leaving school, workplace, shared housing etc simply because we just had no reason to stay in touch afterwards.
Getting along while people who are actively a part of your life is one thing, having a reason to keep interacting is another.

Sure, what appeals to whom is subjective.
But most men are similar and most women are similar while the genders are mutually dissimilar, on average.

The truth is simply that: men just don't care for it.

I am friends with many girls, and do not, even a slightest, have interest in them as a woman.
The girls I find attractive as a girl, I never befriend them. I think it is the first step in getting friendzoned.
