How true is the trope in movies that the nerdy girl always has a crush on the popular guy?

In movies, notably those from Hollywood and India's Bollywood movie factory, often girls in those fake romantic movies are depicted as being needy, desperate and submissive, which is totally hogwash.

The vast majority of those movies are created and directed by men and in order to boost the male ego, the producers will obviously make the woman look inferior. This is not something new but has been the case since movies started polluting the cinemas and the TV screens with cliché and preconceived ideas.

No, in reality it is totally different. Just see how many incels there are now and why? Because women in real life are exactly the opposite of what Hollywood wants us to believe.

I notice that many times before my boyfriend, I would find a guy attractive and then research him and learn he has the exact same values and studied the exact same things as me, so maybe there was an unconscious phenotype trigger in their apparition that signified a religious personality trait in them that I was attracted to. But all the guys I have researched so far turned out to be taken already. Doesn’t matter since I have a boyfriend that is more gentle than a Teddy bear.
