Has modern love turned into short term dating and strict perfection tests?

I was interacting with some sociology students especially women who wanted to be in a short term relationship only, and many of them were kinda just being hypocritical about that as well.
Like if they find someone really really good then they would be the house wife.
And if not then just use the men until they can and move on to the next one.

I know being single or a temporary relationship is better for women than marriages cause it binds them down and into a bad cycle.
I just don't understand why the hypocritical nature towards a specific person.
Isn't the idea behind a relationship to love someone and accepting the flaws or to improve each other?
I just have a tiny issue with the part where they will settle for someone only deemed perfect, and only a handful of people fall in that category everyone else might suffer.
I feel a bit cheated by their plans.

It’s not hypocritical to say you’re willing to settle down for the right partner. They just acknowledge that casual relationships are easier to find and manage compared to serious relationships based on the current dating pools, and they’re not male-centered so they’re fine with that. Hypocritical would be saying they ONLY want casual, sex-heavy relationships and then drop all of that for a guy to get married and have 2 kids with him at the first opportunity.

I agree but it messes up my one part.
The more casual relationships you have the more difficult it gets to settle down.
The average good men never want someone like that even if they are beautiful.

+ The past relationships will always have a place for cheating.
As the casual ones also had some level of attractions

Nope I just don't want them to end up in that situation.
It feels like I don't want someone who I know in that mindset.
I know it's not my place to judge. But still I don't want anyone who has a good soul to end up in a bad place.

I think the problem is that people want to have a relationship to find love. When really love is the effect of a good relationship.

Like how when we try to be virtuous, the trying makes it not... when we try to have a relationship to find love it doesn't work. When you have a good relationship it just naturally creates love.
