It's a full time job, no break. Mentally, it takes a load cause nervous system never gets a pause. I would be institutionalized if I lived the life my sister does as a stay at home mom 😅 Or maybe she has crazy kids, who knows.

Men score lower on neuroticism and are often less affected by others' emotional states. This could make the job easier?

I don't think the job has to be that hard. But it can be. Especially if you do not have a supportive partner.

No. As long as you do what needs to be done and are organised its pretty easy.

It's not that it's harder than the average job, it's just that it's time consuming and you only have so much time in a day. It's sad that the average mom today works full time then still has to try to keep up with the minimum that stay at home moms do.

But the question is about stay-at-home moms. Not soccer moms who do everything.

That is not discredit what I just said. A stay-at-home mom has endless potential to improve the quality of life of her family, and more and more families are trying to achieve those goals. Homeschooling is on the the rise. More and more people are realizing how harmful it is to have someone else raising their young children. More and more people are realizing that keeping your kid at home and sitting them in front of a TV isn't enough either. More and more people are realizing how many toxins are in everything today, and the only way to reduce the toxin load is to go the extra mile and make their own foods, ingredients, household products, etc... like I said, it's not necessary hard it's just very time consuming.

Have you ever spent much time caring for young children, while with a list of things you have to get done for the day?

It can be hard, especially if you don't have support.

I have a friend who stayed at home for the first 2 years of her kids life.
She would keep the house clean, do laundry, go get groceries, prepare food. Which you're like yea that's super simple but in-between doing those jobs she's breastfeeding every 2-4 hours, changing nappies, changing clothes, putting the baby down for a nap, entertaining the baby, cleaning up after the baby. Then she suddenly realizes it's almost 4pm she's not showered, hasn't eaten enough food, drunk enough water, and the baby has made more laundry than what's been cleaned. And then her partner comes home from work and complains that nothing was done all day but he can't take care of the baby because he's tired because she kept waking him up every 2-4 hours taking care of the baby in the night. But he still wants to have sex or a blow job at the very least.

    Rinse and repeat.

    (Yes they broke up)

I hear what you're saying, but even after hearing it all, it really doesn't sound that difficult. I personally think women exaggerate the difficulty. Check out the videos I posted on this on the desktop version of this website.

only when things become really hard to deal with, on your own...

but every other day... it can be as easy and chill, as things go more chill and easy, there are a million factors involved... pretty much the same as any other job

Where was the dunno button? I think children have the capacity for doing your head in and you have to watch them constantly.

I do think women will complain about anything - like how exhausting work is - while men just do their job.

Well with 5 kids and an alcoholic husband it can be fairly trying. But my mom kept everything perfect.

It is a hard job if you do it the right way.
