Why do people still try to talk to you when you’re wearing headphones?

When travelling or when at the gym people always try to get your attention. Even though you have headphones in/on to let others know you are in the zone and don’t want to be disturbed 😳

i am telling you, i have my AirPods on all the time, and i like noise cancellation very much, but people do not seem to get it that i cannot hear them most of the time. i do wish they had a feature where people could talk AirPods to Airpods like walkie-talkies, and you decide who can get through to you

i also wish they had darker colors because they're targets for vandalizers, even though they can be tracked down in 2 seconds. sometimes i have to wear my hair down when i would prefer to have a ponytail just so people can't see them

I use in-ear monitors, which makes it impossible to see them with my hair covering my ears. Yes, it is annoying.

I usually wear earphones to avoid people, works good in elevators, can't say I ever had people try to talk over my earphones tho, you must have a easy to talk too appearance.

Sometimes they'll want to get your attention if they want you to focus on something, or if they're trying to give you information.

I can be so oblivious sometimes, so I appreciate it when someone points out something I've missed
