Girls, why do so many of you have such an incredibly low self-esteem?

I've known quite a few girls that were gorgeous and they saw themselves as hideous!!
I went to college with a girl that was a combination of Debby Harry and Marylin Monroe and EVERY guy on campus wanted to fuck her but, she thought she was fat and ugly!! HOW?
Another friend I met in college wasn't gorgeous but, she was pretty and a real sweetheart and there WERE a number of guys interested in her. But, rather than leave her sick, abusive boyfriend and look for something better, she felt she would never find anyone if she left him!! After she divorced him about a decade ago, she almost immediately found another boyfriend and has had at least two more since then!!
I'll tell ya what I think it is! Either, people telling you you don't look nice without make-up or the latest clothes or you read too many of those stupid fashion mags that use photoshop and airbrushing to make their models look way better than they actually are and then keep expecting YOU to live up to those fake standards!!

Yeah, SOME guys, but not many. Even if we KNOW we're ugly, we don't let it run our lives and just get on with it.

you're talking about two different groups of people... lol

there are many men out there who are okay with their looks

but there are many other that have nothing much wrong or nothing wrong with them... but keep doing drugs and abusing their health to the point in which they die on their late 20's early 30's because of heart failure...

all of it... fat, bald, ugly, short, skinny, not symmetrical... fat and skinny at the same time, grainy, dark skinned, light skinned, hairy, big, small... and who knows what else...

It comes from inadequate attention from their fathers.

Maybe dad just has to spend a lot of his time at work to make more money to buy her new clothes and make-up, etc..

A few of them are certainly a best case scenario like that, but it's still they fail and it is still his fault.
