Guys? What is it about sassy girls that guys like so much?

my daughter, who is 15, asked me this the other day.

she was commenting that her friend, who's she feels is pretty and really shy and just a really nice all around person, can't get a decent boyfriend to treat her right. My daughter, who is quite sassy and doesn't put up with a lot of crap, said she doesn't understand why so many guys like her instead when she isn't overly friendly with any of them and basically is like "don't bother me I have a bf" when they try to talk to her. She asked me why they aren't interested in her friend like they are interested in her.

to be honest I didn't know what to tell her so I told her they probably liked the challenge of her being sure of herself and sassy where as her friend is shy...she was like "I guess" I don't think she bought it lol and I honestly don't know what to tell her because I never got that either.

Yeah definitely, everyone (male or female) wants the best partner they can possibly get when you think of it, I think this must go back to caveman days when the best meant that you had the best chance at survival and I guess the fact that no one wants to feel like they've "settled" when they know (or think) they can do better. Therefore confident or "sassy" as you put it :P equals the best option.

What you need to tell her is if she was taken completely out of the equation, would she still get the same result?

Also explain that a lot of other factors need to be taken into account like where are they looking for guys? At a party, then alcohol can be involved, and talking from experience from many drunken nights as a teenager, you would get the more "clearer" decision on which girl to go after, if you get my drift. Also what ages are the guys, because as I'm sure you know, a boy who is 14/15 will USUALLY act a lot different to someone who is a bit older, say 16/17. But not always.

So all in all, there's a number of things that come into play, from the maturity and age of the guy to the setting etc etc To be honest there is times where I like to sit in the club and just watch what guys go for what girls and visa versa, it can get pretty interesting sometimes haha

there is nothing more fascinating for me than watching the 'mating dance' lol whether you're watching kids at the mall or adults at the clubs it is pretty interesting ia. neither one of them are going to parties yet so the drunken thing doesn't apply at this point but yeah it's 14-16 year old guys mostly and they have different ideas of what they want in a girlfriend at that age. her friend is tall and shy and she's petite and athletic ...I told her her friend would get her time soon enough.

Haha yeah definitely, like they say girls usually mature quicker then guys so wait till she gets up to the 17/18 year old (and the boys get their head in the game) and if she's got that sort of physique, she won't know which guy to choose from she'll have that many after her ha ha trust me.

Confidence always stands out, guys have to make less effort with the confidence ones whereas the shy ones.. well they're simply too shy to start anything. Shyness can be mistaken for lack of interest, snobbiness.. so many things.

When they grow up a little, her friend will gain confidence and get a decent boyfriend.

I think that's a lot of it. she does carry herself with confidence and she's also one of those little petite spitfire kinda girls. I've told her that once they are out of school that her friend will find guys to appreciate her. she thinks it's dumb they don't now but she's young she doesn't understand how teen guys work yet lol

because sassy girls are more fun to talk to, flirt with, they aren't doormats, they are a bit of a challenge mentally, and are fun to banter with.

but how would you define sassy exactly? to me it is a girl who is witty, isn't afraid to tease or flirt, seems opinionated, but not bitchy.
