Why do some guys like conservative girls?

Question

I notice that a lot of popular, wealthy, intelligent, hard working, high status men choose super conservative woman.

As for these woman: their lives revolve around, what they will cook, how they will decorate their house, how they will plan their trip, how they will prepare their parties, how they will sew or buy that new mitten, how they will discipline their kids. They are super controlling at home because they demand perfection and order in everything that they do and they never talk about their emotions or feelings. They are extremely matter of fact and down to earth and super rational. They aren't sweet and they aren't bitter, they aren't insecure, emotional or artistic, just super driven.

Is this what most men look for and want in a wife?

Many conservative adults were raised with a stay-at-home parent in the home while they were growing up, typically a Mom figure, so they understand the value. Everything you said sounds so negative, but I bet you'd be content with staying at home with your own children if you had a husband that supported it. Unfortunately, for at least 40 years, liberals have been pushing the idea of a 2 income household, and how socializing our babies/very young children at daycare is a great idea, and spend a lot of time making fun of people who choose otherwise (like your comment). While many liberal men buy into this myth, because their parents did, most conservatives know it's a bunch of bunk. I loved the security of having my Mom home with me as a kid, as did my husband. Even though I don't have kids, my husband and I both see a value to me staying at home. My husband and I are conservative with money, making our situation totally doable for us. We are younger than 50, both drive paid off cars, live in a paid off house, and fund both of our retirement accounts every month on one income. We use credit for travel and rarely let a balance carry over to the next month. It's not rocket science, it's just budgeting, not living beyond your means, and setting financial goals. Both my husband and I know my value at home is immeasurable. I budget, shop, cook, clean, run errands, do laundry, handle issues, manage our home and all that that entails, care for our pets, etc. My husband walks in at the end of a 12 hour day to find a wife who is as happy as a clam, dinner's ready, the house is spotless, he's treated like a king, and our weekends are for fun.. All of which do not make me a 50s housewife, a Stepford wife, or lazy.. On the contrary, I'm the luckiest girl in the world, and I remind my husband of that often. I love my conservative guy, plus liberal men are just a bit wimpy (at least to me).

First of all your skill of classifying is totally ruined. Second of all, please oh please don't generalize.

Now, you need to correct your definition for the word " conservative" . Consequently, you will know by then that there is nothing wrong with conservative women.

The reason why intelligent men seek conservative women is because they are smart enough to choose a decent woman to run his family. Not a materialistic whore who all she seeks is his money, yes not women are like that , but most of them... It is better to have a decent, home-type of woman rather than one who might turn out to be a criminal or what not.

Demanding perfection, controlling and other stuff you mentioned have nothing to do with the term "conservatism".. But you were right on the "staying home" part, even though they might go to work as all and have their own career.

I assume that men choose conservative women over more liberal ones because they are more decent, caring towards his money, trustworthy and the pure fact that a woman puts her house before her job is an amazing thing for men :)

I am growing into a conservative woman, and trust me I am not boring or not open about my feelings.. I am actually really spontaneous, I love talking about my emotions .. I am down to earth only when necessary , people who know me claim that I am really sweet and I don't know what's wrong with rationality .. what's wrong if we are rational ? The difference between me and a liberal girl is that I dress more decent, and care about my husband's money and house. I am not a kids person , I still wanna have fun .. and I am nowhere near being controlling:)

You made a totally wrong classification here, you need to fix that.

Initially she seems devoid of a personality to me from that description.

But then I re-read it and realized I'm actually a lot of those things unintentionally- I'm a really good cook/ enjoy cooking for other people, tend to be emotionally reserved (open, but not bluthering), I'll make/fix anything and everything before buying anew, kids love me, super rational, never bitter about anything, generally happy, self assuring...

But I'm more career ambitious, super artistic on multiple fronts, really sarcastic, and really adventurous. I can't see myself as a house wife. A mother, but not a stay at home for years type.

So, I am a lot of those things you described, but they're 2ndary to what I'd call my personality.

I certainly would not call myself conservative, though I suppose I developed those above attributes by being raised in that environment.

This isn't what I like at all.

From my experience I need a girl to be intelligent enough so that I feel like I don't have to dumb myself down or feel like when I'm talking about certain things she has no clue. Intelligence is a big turn on in general. I love to get their opinion and feel like they are experiencing life with me on an equal level. I want her to have her own opinions and have reasons for them rather than to agree with how I think or to follow some group. It's more ideal if her ideas are fairly inline with my views. Socially I prefer a woman that is more liberal without a doubt. It's even better if she's a little bit reserved and has a conservative manorism at times rather than an in your face angry liberal. I love a girl that talks and communicates how she feels because I tend to talk as well. I'm not really into having children either and don't have plans for them as of yet. Don't get me wrong, if I had or made more than enough money I would love for her to do things she likes like volunteer work or philanthropy if she wanted but no I wouldn't want her to stay around the house keeping it clean unless it was her preference.

Because they're the best for raising a family. I noticed a huge difference between my parents and my girlfriend's parents.

My Mum has always been a stay at home Wife, my girlfriend parents both work. My Mum's house is always clean and there are never arguments over chores because my Mum does all the cooking and cleaning (and got us to help out). My stepdad comes home from work, dinner is ready, he can just relax. Me and my siblings have always had my Mum there. My stepdad works hard long hours but they're very happy together, very supportive.

My girlfriends parents both work. They're always stressed because they're both busy. When they get home they don't want to do the chores, so the house is always a shithole, then they moan and complain about it, argue who is the busiest etc. My girlfriend and her siblings were raised by strangers. She always complains about the lack of interaction between her and her parents, how she barely saw them. Her parents always argue and her Mum has said a few times that she wanted a divorce.

Let me explain, it's pretty simple:

First, did you know that 2/3 of all divorces are initiated by women...and it's much more common for a woman to be happy with a divorce than it is for a man to be happy with a divorce?

Most men (especially those who are rich and successful and have something to lose) are downright paranoid of a woman taking away their hard-earned bread.

Non-conservative women can be sexually alluring, but also tend to be less stable. For a man without much to lose, or who likes to play dangerous, he'd probably be fine with the risk of this kind of woman.

But for the kind of man who looks at everything as an investment, he'd choose the boring woman who is likely to last longer than the more interesting woman whose love could run out at any time. And the woman you've described is QUITE boring!

I personally think that it's good for a woman to be somewhat conservative, but she need not be as conservative as the extreme you mention. I like women who have their own interests and careers outside of household chores, but I also think it's important for a woman to be willing to sacrifice her career in order to save her marriage.

Eh. To be honest, I would prefer my life to be like that. I will definitely be a stay at home mom, which will also work for my career goals (long term, I'd like my own specialty -gluten free- catering business). And I plan on home schooling.

I tend to be reserved and conservative, however, I'm also extremely artistic in everything I do. And my boyfriend can't complain about me NOT sharing my emotions (he surprisingly doesn't complain about my tendency to get over emotional, either).

I wouldn't consider myself demanding of anyone, especially since I am prone to shyness, and definitely not controlling. Just firm when I need to be.

..Personally I would want to choke a girl like that.  That's just me.  I cook my own food and I have no intention of having kids so a stay-at-home wife who didn't pull her weight 50/50 would be a useless waste of space to me.  I like adventurous, independent women =)  (Note adventurous doesn't have to mean OMG I'M A ROCK CLIMBER/SKYDIVER/PARTY ANIMAL).

I thought it was a stupid question, until I saw the clear divide in answers between men and women. 5 stars for that!

I work, and I consider myself somewhat successful. And I'd love to have a secretary. the women you describe seem like a very good candidate for a secretary, AND she will feed me. That's a pretty good deal.

But I think if they have no opinions of their own, the men will eventually get bored of them. I imagine some compromise needs to be made in most cases, to accommodate for the woman's personality.

I'm like that for the most part, people think I have my sh! t together but I actually don't.
I find that most guys my age aren't interested. I guess I don't give off any romantic vibes.

On the outside I appear tough and straightforward but if you talk to me you'll notice I'm actually kind and a bit indecisive. I'll admit I'm a perfectionist and sometimes bossy but I try not to be mean.

I always attract older men. Some are well established while others pretend to be thinking it'll impress me.

Honestly I've tried being less and holding myself back but it only works for so long... I just want for once a guy my age to like me. I wanna be with someone I can grow old with

That is what most ment look for in a keeper yes. Probably not what they look for when they are just thinking of using some woman for quick sex. Of course some end up with the sl*ts, but normally just the lower quality of men. (they just get what they deserve.)

Well usually those types of women are more secure/faithful and just someone you want by your side for life. It's traditional a bit, sure, but men would likely choose her as its a partnership and she does things he doesn't and they each give and take significantly.

Personally, I am all of those things, very career driven yet domestic etc. and I know I look for a partner who has what I lack or someone to share with. It has to be half half, not just you do this I do that...
