I think having a clean and neat room means so many things, it bugs the hell out of me when I'm having someone over and my apartment or room is messy. I like to take the time to make a good impression, make sure they feel comfortable and at home.
A guy that has a clean room is always a plus, it means he's organized, tidy and cares about his belongings and environment.
well it depends if its like oh he has a couple things tossed on the floor like shirt over there his pants is on the floor just little stuff that you can clean up in a hop skip or jump but if its like "OMG THERE'S SOMETHING MOVING UNDER THAT PILE CLOTHES!" and you can't even see the floor and there's food eveywhere then houstin we have a problem
my boyfriends room was messy when I went over last week but he straightened up while I was there. I would prefer if he prepared for me and kept it clean but when your so in love with a person, like I am with him, the state of their room is such a small and unimportant detail
When I had rommates, we used to.clean the majority of the house before we went to the bar in case anyone was lucky enought to bring a girl home. At least got the place cleaned once or twice a week :)
Are you talking about a grown man's room or a teenagers? Becaus a teenager's is usually messy, I should know I'm a teenager, if I ever where to have a girl over I would make sure my room is clean.

A clean room means several things to me about a man. One is it means he is hardworking and willing to work. Two is he is organised. Three is that he cares to clean it. It shows his good qualities. A messy room means just the opposite. I would feel like he didn't care about me enough to even bother to clean his room. it also means he is lazy, messy, and probably has an attitude to match. A messy room would scare ME off!
Hm... not really. I'm a bit of a slob myself (I don't have stuff everywhere though), so... I can't really say anything. I'd appreciate it if there was somewhere I could sit, but other than that I don't really care :)
It would be a red flag for me I went to a guys house for the first time it was really messy I didn't think much of it, everyone takes a break from cleaning once in a while right? Two months later still not clean, never again.
im a clean freak so he would know to clean up before I cam but if he didn't its okay if their are items out of place... what would concern me is if his room is repulsive and it was constantly like that..
I wouldn't want a "slob" as a potential boyfriend, fiance, husband, etc... I'm not saying you're a slob I'm just saying that is usually what comes behind being messy and unorganized. It tends to follow them into their later years. It also matters what classifies as messy too (trash, dirty clothes, clean clothes, dirty plates, food crumbs etc...). Atleast tidy up a little.

That would be rude if he didn't bother to clean it up...like if we hadn't been dating for that long
It would bother me a bit specially if he knew I was going over.
