Why do men like weak, submissive girls

after the way my ex treated me I am now a very strong minded, opinionated,open person who will stand up for herself and back then I was a very weak,shy girl...guys I know seem to like girls who act dumb purposely and are all like childlike and weak, is this what most guys like?

I don't... I like mature, independent women. That doesn't mean they can't be shy tho either... as long as they are strong-willed and stand up for their beliefs and stay true to who they are, that's great!

Guys only seem to like dumb girls like that because they know they can take advantage and get easy sex. I'm not the kind of guy to even consider a girl like that or that kind of lifestyle... There's no substance or real fulfillment in those kind of relationships.

The resulting issue for people like us tho, is because we stay true to ourselves, it takes a very particular, special kind of person to respond not only physically, but emotionally to who we are as well. And we have to feel the same for them, which makes things even more difficult. Plus, with there being so many fake people out there, that ignore their feelings and fears for as long as they do, it "muddies the waters" even more.

Finding that "right" person is hard and can take a long time...

I don't want a weak, dumb girl. I don't want her to check her brain at the door when we're in a relationship. I want her to be in a safe place of protection where she is able to express her gifts and creativity when she's with me. I don't want her to be my doormat. Instead, I want her to grow in what she's great at, and to be the best she can be. I don't want her to fear me or to be miserable with me, which I feel is the general idea of a submissive girl.

I don't like people who act dumb on purpose..that is one of my hugest pet peeves. I don't want someone who puts on an act to be ditzy or whatever. I want her to know she can speak up and say what she feels with me. I like the submissiveness inside the bedroom and that's about it

Thats the perfect match, that's exactly how I am but guys I attract seem to want a dumb girl and admit that which annoys me as I like men who are equal and not dominant except in bed

yeah, I think those guys just want someone who will do everything they say and basically do whatever they want, when they want it. not so much a real girlfriend, more like a sex doll :\

exactly what I think, its jus a pity I'm very in to a guy who told me he likes this behavior and he talks down to me a bit when I say something opinionated but this is his only fault and I'm very fussy :(

guys don't like bimbos, but definitely weaker girls. Ill be honest with you, most of the time girls come across as extremely nieve to most guys, so when there is an opinionated girl its just so repulsive to any guy with a backbone. I've seen guys who are kind of unconfrontational get with girls who run their life and that's fine for them, but you can't expect to get a strong-hearted man.

i don't get this, why is it OK for a guy to be opinionated but not a girl? I don't control guys and my ex controlled me that's why I am strng now but I would never run a lads life, I would like it to be equal

guys are dominate, they might say they want equality and they do to an extent...but its like sharing your food with a bare, its just not in his nature. opinionated girls just leave a bad taste. I'm not trying to be mean its just the way we're wired.

I hate girls who act dumb on purpose. That's just stupid. Although I like a girl to show her weakness so I can comfort her and make her feel better! But I hate when girls do it on purpose to get attention. It's SUPER annoying and immature.
