Should I avoid the girls who watch the Magic Mike movie?

Now, that movie is coming out with perfect looking guys according to what I've read. I think it will make me not enough for other girls. In the trailer it says stuff like "the law says don't touch, but I see rulebreakers here" to general female applause. I would die if a girl cheated on me, so that line stung.

So what I am getting is that when a girl watches this movie she will want to go cheat with male strippers who are better than you are. A couple of my female friends want to go watch it and I have not talked to them since ( 3 days). My ex might want to get back with me, but if she watches this movie I will say no.

I don't look that bad, I'm lean with definition but I'm not too strong or that ripped even after going to the gym for a long time.

Suggestions? What do I do?

Magic Mike is just a movie. it is not going to make girls have higher standards or make them want to cheat. If they would even consider cheating after hearing a line like that, they were probably a cheater to begin with. Girls iwll go see this movie because of all the good looking actors in it. They will probably talk about it for a while afterward, but at the end of the day most will have a good head on their shoulders and look for a down to earth normal guy. PLus this question is a bit of a double standard. There are tons upon tons of movies where beautiful, toned women are walking around half naked. Men drool over these movies everyday. that hasn't caused some spike in cheating or high standards. This is one of the first movies that flaunts a male's body rather than a females. In the end, a girl is who she is. She will not be a changed person because of one movie. So your decision to not talk to girls that have seen this movie is really inecure, shallow, and frankly stupid.

I don't watch movies for those girls. It's usually girls who look at the top 1% of guys as dateable only. The movie will probably make girls want to go to strip clubs which is already a deal breaker for me as I don't.

The whole romantic thing I get, but this is a movie purely on sexual thoughts of girls. It would definitely be harder to catch the eye of a girl who has watched the movie as her expectations will go up. Why did he have to ruin the chances of a girl being attracted to me? :(

You are being too insecure about this issue. Like I said, there are countless movies from the sexual points of views of guys and this has not changed anything. Yes, maybe seeing those sexy girls in the movies makes girls feel more self conscious about what they look like. But at the end of the day that is Hollywood, it isn't realistic and most people know that. And if for some reason a girl disses you because she saw that movie, she is shallow anyway.

Why do you think there are so many anorexic, bullemic girls, or girls getting breast implants or palstic surgery? Because of the beautiful women in movies and the media. Movies make girls feel insecure, including me sometimes. Welcome to the media. Insecurity due to movies is not something new. Just like women everyday, you will have to deal with it. I deal with it every time my boyfriend watches a video of Shakira dancing half naked. But at the end of the day it is me he wants..not her.

There is a difference between avoiding girls that go to strip clubs versus avoiding girls that see a certain movie. The first one is more understandable. I keep stressing that women in the media make girls feel inferior. However, the down to earth guys that girls want to date realize that celebrities are unrealistic expectations and many times are fake. Those aren;t the girls a good guy wants. Same for you.

Yes. Why bother having bachelor / bachelorette parties when you're about to recite your vows and tie the knot? It seems pretty hypocritical. Besides, the men on my father's side don't believe in bachelor parties either and they weren't grouping some stripper's ass before their wedding day.

I know for a fact afterward I'm not going to run off with a stripper because I look for a more committed relationship and seriously? What girl goes bragging about how she hooked up with a stripper? That would make you seem like a controlling and inconsiderate guy. Guys go to strip clubs a lot more than women. I can drive down the road and spot 3 or 4 strip clubs for men, but I couldn't tell you if one for women even existed in the city. Why should men get to have entertainment, while women don't?

Trust is a major component of a relationship. I think something like a silly movie like this is more of a trust issue with you than them.

Guess what - male strippers are not better than you are. They're strippers because they can't make it otherwise. There's a lot more to a person than their looks. Trust me...I dated a stripper that I met in a club. There's a lot more than just looks.

Who cares about their bodies? I'll tell you right now, I'm overweight and not the greatest looking guy in the world. Yet I dated a stripper, and have one who has quit stripping who is pursuing me. If you're not trolling, then you really have some hangups that you need to get over. It's not a big deal whatsoever. I honestly couldn't tell you any girls I know that have been to a male strip club or even seen a male stripper otherwise. Well the many girls that have talked about this subject have made me think they'll be very turned on when done watching it.

Since I don't want a girl who has gone/wants to go to a male strip club. This movie ruins it since they might want to try it after the movie. It also makes me have to go overtime at the gym to get the same attention they do.
