Girlfriend lost her best friend to a tragic accident..

3 months ago my girlfriend (19) lost her best friend (best friends for around 9 years.) I have no idea what to say/do to make things a bit better for her. Can anyone give me any ideas?

Hug her and be her sounding board. She's lost the person in whom she may have confided the most. There may be some sort of "if only" regrets hanging on her heart (like "if only I had been there, if only we had turned right instead of left, if only I had/hadn't called at that moment...")

Hang in there and be strong for her. She may be waiting for a random moment to have a really good cry, but she might have a really intense cry because she's stubbed her toe or something small and silly (but it's really an emotional manifestation of what she's feeling because of her friend's death)...

It is a very difficult time for her. Sometimes knowing that you are there to support her itself is biggest thing any girl can ask for. I mean there is not much you can say to her apart from reminding her that her friend is in a better place and also by being with her. Maybe I think you should take her to places that will not remind her of her friend. Also it is always best to listen to what she feels patiently. Don't worry I think she has got a really good boyfriend who actually cares. ;)
