Due to some family issues and major trust issues, my boyfriend decided to "test" our relationship and pretended that he lived states away from me for 8 months, "flying" home a couple of weekends a month. He has always treated me with respect and is kind to others, and I never saw this coming. I told him that he needs to seek counseling for the unresolved issues that led him to be so distrustful of me. I broke up with him once and dated someone else because I didn't feel like his feelings for me were strong, but never cheated on him so I don't feel like that's grounds for not trusting me because we weren't serious at the time and I didn't think he even cared all that much about the breakup. I don't know where to go from here. He says he wants a life with me and wants to marry me but was very defensive about his big lie even though he said he was wrong. What do I do?
