I felt awful. Seeing him so weak put a lot of burden to my shoulders. He thinks I am perfect and I also think he thinks I am too good for him..
How can I deal with this situation? Are his feelings normal?
I think his feelings overwhelming him so much is not so normal. I think we all have moments where our attachement and dependancy on someone we love can drop us to our knees . . . but did your actions truly warrant such a response? A confident man that trusts you will accept the times when you don't do exactly what he wants, or when you are just too busy or tired to see him that day. I Fiance would have to be pretty damn upset to throw himself into a fit of tears like that, and if he ever did I probably won't see it (because it would be over us breaking up). The only time I think I'll ever see him cry is when his grandmother passes away. Now that's just him, other men are just more emotional, or at least show it more. I still think what your guy did is extremely over the top and I'd be talking to him about it. You need to be certain to let him know you aren't going anywhere and he needs to have the confidence and peace of mind to believe you.
He has low self esteem. I think he's so afraid of losing you because he has no confidence in himself and he feels he will never find another girl like you. The best thing you can do for him is just give him a big hug for like 30 seconds and just tell him he's not going to lose you any time soon. You need to be the support he needs right now. Talk to him about it and be open to his responses and give him feedback. I'm sure he's just thinking irrationally over something he shouldn't.
He sounds like he has low self-esteem, which is common. But what isn't common is for a guy like that to manage to get a girlfriend, unless he's very good at hiding it.
