How to prevent someone from seeing you visited their profile on Okcupid? Can someone confirm?

I think I just found out how to prevent people from seeing you visited their profile on OK cupid:

-I visited this profile by mistake and ooops I know the person, and didnot want them to know I visited their profile so what I did is :

-turned off visitors

-visit the person's profile again and hide the person and Voila...!

order is important and it doesnot work unless you visit profile again and hid the person...can somebody confirm if this is works?

Hi,

I have been on the site for a while.All you have to do is go to "browse anonymously TURN OFF VISITORS".When you do this,the other person has NO idea you are visiting their profile.Also,you turn off visitors on YOUR profile,and it practically erases the history of people who has visited your profile before you hit that button.That means,your "visitors" list goes to zero until you decide to turn the option of seeing visitors back on.I have done this countless times.But yes,hiding a user takes them off of your radar in any shape form or fashion.They are unable to see you or any activity you are doing on the site.

well but I already visited someone profile and afterward, turned off my visitor list then visited the persons page again and clicked hide, it looks like that will erase that you already visited the person's profile, have you tried that? order is important

Ive already done that.Anytime you hide a person,they can no longer see anything from you.

create a fake profile and do this with it. see if that works.

Or, since you know the person, just send message saying "I thought that was you! Have you had any luck on here?" And anything else that conveys that you're not interested.

There's a good chance they already know. Do you pay for it? I was under the impression the only way to browse anonymously was to upgrade to whatever they call their premium membership.

no I don't pay for it, but if the person pays probably my way will not work, but I don't think he pays ;)
