For me, as a former stutterer, I grew up in a very intolerant household with much ignoring, verbal abuse, and isolation from society in general. This left me years behind my peers socially. I feel high average stress along with intolerance can cause our problems to be much higher than they ever should have been. I developed a learning theory to more permanently reduce my average muscle tension that created my speech impediment. This enabled me to finally have more fluent speech. I am still dealing with year of isolation and the need to relate in more normal ways with others. I feel high average stress, intolerance, and isolation can affect others in different ways. Perhaps my learning theory designed to more permanently reduce average stress will help. Also, being isolated has allowed me to deal more constructively with developing my own values of relating to others. Mind you, even persons with no afflections are having powerful problems with relationships these days. The problem today is that the more high tensioned our lives are today, the much more pointed our weights and values that invariably rub our relationships with others.
