Boyfriend says i'm "expensive" and I'm "costing him"?

so when we first started dating at dinner when he'd get the check, one time he said "damn you're expensive" then laugh. And another time said "you're costing me" and laughed but I was kind of like wtf really? and then one time him and his dad picked me up from my house and I got in the car and his dad was like "do you have money because you're going to the mall and ____ doesn't" & I felt offended like does he think i'm going to make him buy me a bunch of stuff? I would never.
tonight we went out to dinner, all that stuff happened the first 2 months we were dating. then when he got the check he was like "damn you're expensive" so I was like "oh sorry.. I can pay for myself you know" and he was like "oh no babe" & I got my purse and I was like "how much?" and he said he could never take my money then I was like "lets go dutch from now on, I don't mind paying part of it" and he was like "I feel bad letting you pay" & I said "I feel bad when you say comments like that" and he apologized but from now on we're splitting the check I told him. then when we were going to the car he said "you know I didn't mean it" and I was just like "no I don't know but its fine" like seriously man, how should I feel even if he's joking. you don't joke like that wtf.

I agree with you. That's pretty fucked up. He probably doesn't even realize what he's actually saying or what he's doing. Of course I would pay for my girlfriend but if she wanted to pay for it then I'd let her. Him making rude comments towards you saying that you're expensive and when you want to pay for it he says oh no babe I got the bill. The fuck kind of shit is that? He sounds like he can be really stupid at times and inconsiderate towards your feelings and well-being. You are not some object, you're human. He's gotta stop disrespecting you.
