This was sent to moderators a little less than a week ago. I understand that it is difficult to enforce "nonsense" consistently.
Let's be honest though, I think it's fairly difficult to be consistent across the board when it comes to what is offensive or explicit, for example. What one person finds offensive or explicit could be something that doesn't phase me in the least and what I find offensive or explicit might not phase the next person.
There are guidelines for all of the removal/reporting options but I think they're still open to interpretation.
The nonsense option is also up for interpretation and yes even more so than the other reporting options but it still has its place, in my opinion, I think the nonsense option needs to be brought back. Perhaps there should only be a few people that can remove them if the concern is being consistent and fair.
It hasn't even been a full week and it's ridiculous seeing some of these questions.
I've seen a few dozen question in the last few days that would have been removed as nonsense.
I'd love to actually post links to those questions here but for fear of having mytake removed I won't, I'll simply give you some of the questions.
Here are five that have me shaking my head...
Is my roommate pregnant?
In this question a male is talking about how he "accidentally" ejaculated in his female roommates shaving cream and personal products. Also, mentioned that they had sex two days before and she's got a belly now...
How many side hoes?
In this question the asker wants to know how many "side hoes" you'd allow your significant other to have before you said too many...
Do you think it's ok to be white?
....there's nothing more to add. This is just a ridiculous question. I suppose this could be removed as offensive but to me this is just more nonsense.
Am I too loose if I can fit a toaster in my cooter?
No need to elaborate on this one...
My son brought home a girl?
In this one a mom is bitching about how good looking her son is and how ugly and fat this girl is that he brought home.
Goes on to say how this mom and her family are farmers and she wants to tell her son to take the girl out with the rest of the hogs.
Classy "mom" huh?
I've checked as I've typed these examples, each one of these questions are still up. These are no more than two days old.
The other problem I've noticed now is how the questions that are nonsense are being reported. The ones that have been previously reported as nonsense are now being reported as spam which, unless they changed the guidelines for spamming, don't fit.
I think the nonsense option needs to be brought back. Put better more strict/clear guidelines on it if you have to but to just let these stupid ridiculous questions take over is going to destroy the site.
