Aren't you just creating useless echo chambers if you have a feature that just allows everyone everywhere to "hide" anything that mildly ruffles their feathers? We're not talking here about reportable comments, are we? No, we mean the comments that just "Hey she's just being mean to me because she doesn't agree with me and I want to pout about it so I'm gonna hide her stuff! That'll teach her!"

I don't really care about these changes (although most aren't bad). But I'm still waiting for the changes I really want to see:
The ability to edit and/or delete your own opinions. So, we can remove other people's comments but not our own? What sense does that make?
Also, when you block someone, you're also basically blocking yourself -- because you can't downvote (or upvote) the person you blocked.

The "I don't want to see this" is the only new thing I don't like. There won't be as many valid discussions if the opinions can be removed. Sounds like oppressing free speech.

You are correct... it's censorship all the way... and it's wrong. Being rude and being abusive are not the same thing. Opinions should be submitted to the site for review before removal.

Rude is not abusive. Posts should have to be put under review before removal. Otherwise it's censorship.

@coachTanthony The GaG site reviews questions in a matter of minutes. They can do the same for submitted comments. Rude and abusive are not the same thing. Also "trolling" is subjective and a conclusion. It's censorship.

@coachTanthony Sorry, they *should be able to* do the same for submitted comments (as they have the ability, but maybe drag their feet). I've posted questions that were reviewed and moved into different categories within minutes. There's no reason they can't do the same thing for submitted comments. Being rude and being abusive are not the same thing. Removing comments, posts, or opinions without them being submitted for review first is censorship. It's a "safe space" tool for people to dial whine-1-1 and request a wah-mbulance.

@NYCQuestions1976 Every opinion removed should be reviewed by GAG. Not saying it shouldn't but I should have the right to remove it first. If Gag wants to review it and send me a warning that it didn't break policy and won't be tolerated in the future than great. But I am not waiting days to just sit back and allow someone to slander me or my company. This is a good move on GAG's part.

@coachTanthony People are allowed to post negative opinions about people and companies all over the internet. Why should it be different here? This gets brought up in Court all the time... and 99% of the time it gets struck down. Like it or not, it's a form of free speech. I or anyone else are allowed to be dissatisfied with you and your service, your message or your company's message, and your company's service... and can express that dissatisfaction in the form of a posted opinion. Being rude or being obnoxious different from being abusive.

Sure would be nice if you would specify what is or isn't
offensive. I have had posts removed, verbally chastised for them, but you never say specifically what it was. People on this site are spiteful and mean spirited so when you have a contrary opinion they will block you or complain. Do you ever keep track of the blockers and complainers.
