7 Annoying Things People Do On GAG

There are some things I'm not happy with on this site and that could be improved. Last time I wrote a MyTake about GAG I wrote about things the founder could change about the site to bettering it, but in this MyTake I'm going to share my thoughts about annoying things users does.

7 Annoying Things People Do On GAG

1) Trolling

7 Annoying Things People Do On GAG

The most irritating thing on this site is trolling. The difference between trolls and some of the others categories in my list is that trolls intentionally tries to be offensive, do cyber bullying, spamming and not respecting others users. Other users may do irritating things without intending to be rude or are aware of it. Here I'm talking of the toxic trolls that repeats the behavior even after they've got a warning from the admins or other users telling them to quit.

A troll may ask a question because of rude intentions and not necessarily because of curiosity or wanting to make good and civil discussions. Many knows holocaust during World War II and 9/11 did happen, but are trying to deny it just to mock people or wanting to be mean.

2) Spamming

Spamming is when people ask the same question several times a week, do advertisement repeatedly or being like a spambot.

3) Not replying properly

"I DON'T CARE. I ONLY CARE ABOUT THE XP POINTS!"

When people choose to give a short answer that don't answer the question that gets asked at all, are irrelevant or are saying they're voting option A in the poll without explaining why. When the asker ask people to explain their opinions more, the asker wants a more detailed answer and sometimes the asker wants to know why the users have their opinions.

If it's too time consuming to answer properly or you're not into explaining more, you don't have to answer the question at all. Especially not if you wants to post something that hasn't anything with the question or topic to do. Not every askers wants to joke all the time and wants some serious answers.

4) The "I don't know"

"I DUNNO!"

Some users writes "I don't know", "I've no idea" or "I dunno" on questions they don't know the answer at instead of not clicking into that question to answer it. No askers wants to force people to answer questions they don't know the answers at and if you gets a question invitation, you can decline it.

"Google it" is another version of "I don't know". Off course it's possible to google questions or try to find a book in the library, but there aren't always many who've answered that question earlier or many results that comes up. Maybe that person have googled it without any results. Actually a lot of questions that have been asked are posted on forums like GirlsAskGuys, Reddit, Quora, Debate.org and similar, so if fewer people posted on these forums, there would be lesser results on Google.

5) Insults & name calling

A thing I've noticed a lot in discussions are when people are disagreeing, many are resorting to name calling and insults. Calling others "idiot", "stupid fuck", "dumbass" and other insults are ruining the discussions. Often discussions are meant to discuss a political event, religious ideas, travelling destinations and similar, not other users.

After I posted a MyTake on why I don't want children, many people resorted to name calling instead of trying to give me any rational arguments on why having children are a good thing and why being childfree isn't smart. Calling me a "pathetic person", "miserable idiot" etc. won't make me understand you better. You don't have to be agree in everything you reads or like everyone's humor, but that don't mean it's mature of you to use insults or that your arguments would be more convincing.

6) Grammar policing

"Your spelling are wrong!"

That's people who are solely focusing on correcting others grammars instead of wanting to answer their questions and participate in the discussion. They're like people who don't want to answer properly, but are thinking more at the spelling and grammars than category 3.

7) Asking the same questions

"CAN YOU TEACH ME?"

Some questions are asked all the time and since they're not always asked by the same people, therefor they don't necessary fit the spamming category. That person may only ask the question once, but since there are a lot of people asking the same question, therefor the question pops up in the feed all the time.

The frequently asked questions are often about penis and boob size, but can also be a question asking about if staring is a sign of attraction and if all women are bisexual. Off course being curious is a good thing, but these questions have been answered many times and it's easy to find an answer on GAG. I'm not saying "Google it" out of ignorance - I'm just saying that these questions have been frequently asked and therefor it's easier to find answers there than for more rarely asked questions.

Once time I asked how astronauts planned to do surgeries in space with zero gravity and at that time there were very few results on Google, therefor I had to ask the question to see if someone else knew the answer. Then "just Google it" didn't work.
