Yes you do have that right. It's when it gets too personal and continues for a long period of time it becomes harrassment. So technically you can't be offended by a complete stranger for something written or said to your face. If you do get offended for real by one less nicer word one time, too fucking bad. Grow a spine and a pair of balls, fight back in a really clever way one time and then just leave it at that.
The problem with this is you can label anything 'offensive' and if enough people agree then the thing is censored. This will inevitably lead to no free speech.
Speech (with some exceptions ) is specifically enumerated in the First Amendment. Speech that you don't like or that hurts your feelings is not.
Free speech does not include verbal abuse attacks, harassment, slander and besides being overly offensive is supposed to be against the rules on this site if anyone bothers to read the rules or follow then
