Even on here, dopes and retards complain about "people denying them free speech..."

Look, freedom of expression is about the STATE not limiting what you can say, not private bodies....

Can you walk into somebody's home and then say what you want? A restaurant? A shopping mall? No, because they're all privately owned....

So if you don't like it, remove yourself from the area at hand. Or perhaps get tested for a lack of social comprehension or something....

Freedom of expression has NEVER meant that PRIVATE bodies cannot prevent you from speaking or saying what the fuck you want.

I don't see what the big deal is. I mean besides some people being extremely sensitive. Plus if she was telling him to take it off because of little kids on the plane. Why didn't she just tell the dude it was because of that? I'm sure if you tell other people that then nobody would have a problem unless they just don't care about kids. Still it is kind of sad how sensitive people seem to be these days. Plus with any curse words kids are going to find out sooner or later in life. You can't hide any bad words from them forever. Might as well tell them but after doing so tell them why those are bad words. I remember when I was really young around like 2nd grade i ended up doing the bird finger. This girl was offended and told the teacher. Honestly I had no clue what she was talking about. I didn't understand since I didn't know what it meant. Which made me a kid who was like 6-7yrs old upset since I didn't think I did anything wrong. So it's not fun being a little kid where if you say something that just happens to be a curse word and people give you hell for it. Your confused out of your mind.

In the US you could even get kicked out some places for having a beard: just because some hippies and some Muslims have beards and we decided to hate hippies and Muslims.
Or you can be stopped and frisked for being black or looking Hispanic: just ethnic profiling.

No, freedom of expression is not a "LACK OF limitation", it's "PROTECTION AGAINST limitation".

And I agree it should be on public forum, not on private property.
But what constitutes a public forum and private property is another discussion. Should we allow people who own in-mass-used property (like a big airline) to decide on what is allowed in there.

Should we allow racist airline owners to ban black people from sitting on their planes? (color of skin is good analogy to a shirt since it marks a group marginalized by something as opinion, or color)

I think that's idiotic. People who earn money from property used by masses, especially if they have monopoly/domination over that particular industry should not be allowed to treat that property entirely as their own home without government control.
If said racist bought all airlines, black people would become unable to leave the country by plane. To protect black people, you have to institute laws that PROTECT FROM limitation placed on blacks, instead of just saying: "we aren't limiting blacks, but we don't care if someone else does" (just LACKING limitation).

If you have a private college that BANS or HECKLES a speaker they don't agree with, you are limiting free speech. You're allowing that college to create an information bubble and you're degrading intellectual progress.
If you want to start a college, government should enforce laws that PROTECT FREE SPEECH in your college, no matter what your platform is and what you teach in your curriculum.
If you think Earth is 500 years old and that's what you teach, when you hold a discussion panel you have to open it to EVERYONE, including say Bill Nye. And law should protect his right to speak freely because that's a college.

Law should also protect freedom to dress as you like, and only the law should set limits on it, not large airline owners.

Also to add how this retarded word "offensive" needs to be taken out of the dictionary. "Being offended" is subjective. It's no standard and any whiny idiot can find something "inappropriate and offensive".

What is prohibited needs to be precise and CLEAR. If it isn't, you can't write it into a law, or airline policy for that matter. (Leaving the interpretation up to some annoying cunt selling tickets.)

Funnily enough, I saw this issue come up on a server I used to be a part of a while back.

Basically, someone went on it, and began a tirade of racially insensitive comments. The admin that was on at the time banned him. Later, he went onto our forums to complain about said admin, demanding a "permaban and demote on that bitch". He also started with the freedom of speech rant (of course). What essentially ended up happening was your post in a condensed form, with the server owner pointing that out to him before IP banning him from the forums. -_-

I think it was a stupid thing for the plane to because who cares what his shirt says? It's on his shirt and anyone of reading age may get a chuckle or entertainment out of it, kids aren't offended by it, it's the censoring parents that one make words 'bad' words and make a scene over a word.

This is my pet peeve! Holy shit, people can be idiots. Every time some major figure gets fired for saying some racist or homophobic thing it's "rabble rabble violation of freedom of speech rabble rabble!" Ugh. The amount of ignorance about what the constitution actually says astounds me.

Also, that whole thing where if the best defense you can offer for what you're saying or how you're expressing yourself is "it's not illegal," maybe you should rethink that.

Good point. I mean really, the worst that can happen to you in the US if you express any extreme speeches or any extreme expressions of some sort is getting kicked out of a certain place (privately or publicly owned) by the owner of that place (as you said).

In some countries, you can get incarcerated or even executed for expressing such things. Here in America, we can't throw people in jail for that reason because that goes against our Bill of Rights/Constitution.

i agreee with freedom of speech/expression to an extent.. many families will not like they're younger children reading this shirt, so I believe what the flight attendent did was appropriate. Yes "fucking" is found everywhere but it is offensive if kids can read this too.
