This Is Why You Should Stop Being An Introvert

Unfortunately I happened to be born an introvert, although I try to come over it all those years. I'm still trying personally, but I can't complain with my current results, since I'm way more outspoken than I used to be.

- Introverts are usually tend to be made fun of in school

School years have long gone by, since I'm almost 25, but still memories have remained. The popular kids have it better in school. Also I used to be overweight by then, which was also a bad thing. So being an introvert combined with being overweight back in school, you are the most obvious target.

- Introverts tend to be kept busy by silly activities indoors

OK in winter it's OK I think to stay in, since there's cold outside. So there's an excuse. But in summer? Even if you have zero friends, I honestly believe it's better to go out in the sun alone, than staying in and playing games, reading a book or whatever.

- Introverts will never be chick magnets

This is for the guys mostly. I have realized an introvert will never attract most girls. Only girls you are going to get are those who are introvertred as well, and usually are less attractive and more conservative as well. In other words you will never be a chick magnet, but remain with one girl and only. She might be loyal and all, but still it would be only her.

- You will trigger more "Do you have something?" questions

For those who are introverts and they tend to admit it as well, they should know better. It used to happen when I was a kid pretty often. Just count how many times you've been asked this question.

- Introverts tend to be liked less

If you ask someone "With whom would you rather to hang out with?", 99% among those will answer the Extrovert instead of the Introvert, unless they share the same interests with Introverts. Generally Introvert people tend to be viewed as more distant and unfriendly.

Lol have you stop being an introvert? I kind of wish this was a how to but good take overall reflects well my personal opinion of being an introvert. I am like "is there a cure?"

An introvert forcing themselves to be more extroverted (or vice versa) can actually be pretty damaging. One of the biggest things is that it leads to self hatred. You hate yourself because you can't be more extroverted, you feel like you should be having fun in large gatherings, but you aren't. Your own self esteem can and most likely will plummet, and it can lead to a sense of apathy for tasks you once enjoyed. I should know because I went through that when I tried becoming more extroverted during high school and so many people who tried also says the same thing.

Not to mention, introverts are the ones who make large contributions to art, literature, science, and technology while the extroverts are the ones to take the more outgoing jobs like store clerks, teachers, public speakers, and most leadership roles. Introverts are just as necessary to society re extroverts are. They are complementary to each other. The world we like in today wouldn't be possible with only extroverts, nor would it be possible with only introverts.

I agree wholeheartedly! I am an introvert, but I love my friends who are mostly extroverts.

I don't think you can just 'stop' being an introvert. We are what we are. I've always been more of an introvert, and felt really socially awkward in my younger years. As the years have gone by however, I've learned to be a lot more comfortable within myself, and I have a lot more self-confidence now. I don't talk a whole lot, but I can now look somebody right in the eye and say 'hi'. The interesting thing is, THEY are usually the ones looking down or looking away. And if I feel like saying something interesting, I'll now just SAY it, which is something I would have never done decades ago.

I guess you could say I'm still an introvert, but I've reached a point where it doesn't bother me at all, and in a sense, I've become more of an extrovert.

I'm an introvert and not many of these things have been problems for me I was made fun of at school but I got over it pretty quickly when I was 6 or so my favorite activities are singing running and football I have a very good looking boyfriend I get the do you have something questions but its more about my physical body my fingers are the big one im not liked less I'm just less talkative then others

You could be like me (and probably MOST PEOPLE)--introverted on my own in social situations with people I don't know or in public.
Very extroverted when with a group of friends in a social situation/public.
