Women who say that often don't REALLY mean it. It's a front they put on. A lot of people can do things for themselves but they still like having a partner. Anyone who has to announce "I'm independent!" is probably far from it. Unless you're Beyonce. But even she got married. Plus she knows what sells albums and "All the women, who are codependent, throw your hands up at me" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
I see this in many women who have come out of abusive relationships. My friend for instance comes off as quite aggressively opinionated, stubborn and argumentative, especially with men. She will often state she doesn't need a man (until you know she needs someone to repair her toilet that her kids have clogged up with their toys or the wall they've put a hole in or the door they've busted...) but I know that's bull. It's just after 8/9 years of being controlled this is how she feels she needs to regain control even if it's misguided.
Too many women think they NEED to be loud and make people here them. They are like "I have an opinion! I matter!" I think they are highly self conscious.
Like if you look at what I write here it's very clear I have my own opinion and ideas. I often write long responses. However it might shock one to find out I'm actually very quiet in person. I don't jump into arguments. I generally don't state my views unless asked about them. And when I do I try to as to the point as possible. I've had people accuse me before of being dumb or not knowing anything about a topic (or caring) because I'm not quick to jump in with my opinion like they are. And sometimes I DON'T know enough and I would rather stay quiet than run my mouth.

It depends on the man. Lots of men are submissive and would love a strong woman or there's just guys who don't care if you're strong or not.
The term is called "simp" that's what that man that you are talking about is called. Yes, there are plenty of Simps out there. They need to get their act together and not feed into the bs of the strong and independent woman movement and not give these creatures the time of the day.
@RealManAdvice I googled "simp" and I think you're going about this the wrong way. There's nothing wrong with consenting adults choosing to submit to or dominate each other. A female led relationship doesn't have to involve intersectional, third wave feminism if that's what you're getting at.
Those crazies are merely misandrists. There's plenty of sensible women willing to be dominant, equal or submissive. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

Don't get me wrong, I love women. I would love to be with a woman with the same interests as me , that's on the same page as I am and chill. And I do believe there are "some" out there. I have not lost hope at all. I'm talking about men submitting by bending over backwards for a woman that he is trying to date or is in a relationship with. Women lose respect for this man. If your talking about submission and dominance in a way where it transcends into the sexuality in the relationship, hey , I'm all for it. People should be allowed to do whatever they want, I would never judge. It if floats their boat , totally cool with me. I'm talking in generalities about what's going on between men and women today in the dating world. I like doing for a woman and being appreciated by her. Makes be feel good, productive and worthy. I have nothing against a woman going out and working and making money, totally fine, just don't make this grandiose big deal about it.
