Any time a girl used cute to describe me to me, I immediately started looking for another female to put my attention to. I was not going to hang around for years while you decide if I'm cute or maybe cute enough or maybe cute for dating or whatever other layer this term falls to.
Saying "cute" is a bit ambiguous sometimes especially when lacking context, even when they say it to me they make a smile and say it... Don't just say that, say also the rest!
So knowing how I feel, I try not to use it myself just like so β
It's not the worst thing to call a man. But it is kinda the worst compliment most men don't like to hear.
Honestly its crazy to me hearing someone say that calling a guy cute cements his spot in the friendzone... i love calling my boyfriend cute while im literally riding his dick. doesn't sound like an insult to him ¯\_(γ)_/¯
cute is about as bad as handsome, cute as ryan said something you say to little sibling. and handsome is somthing mothers aunts grandmas call their children nephew etc. course i can't speak for every man. me i find it emasculating

Nah. Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, Michael B Jordan, KJ Apa, Kit Harrington, etc are/were all cute guys who many women drool over. Cute is just a kind of attractiveness but not a bad kind.
For me cute means sweet, cuddly, warm, someone I wanna hug and who makes me feel safe, not just someone who is good looking. How can it be the worst thing for Calling a Man?
It's fine to be called cute in the early stages of a relationship but after a while it's just not enough. I don't want to be in a 3 year relationship with a girl who just thinks I'm 'cute'. There needs to be more, guys need reassurance too.

He's exaggerating. There are plenty of worse things to call a guy. But to tell a guy to his face that he is (a) cute (b) sweet (c) kind (d) going to make some woman really happy some day = these are all equivalent to saying "I will never fuck you."
By no means is it the worst thing you can call a man. I won't give any ideas here, what is worse. Just protecting us guys.
It should be taken as a huge insult , she means she doesn't find you attractive but in order to not hurt your feelings she calls you cute

Calling a guy "Cute" has no meaning to it. You are not telling him that you wanna get in bed, that you wanna date, just be friends, or not interested. It just brings nothing to the table. Empty word.

I use the word cute as an affectionate term sometimes.
When the person does smthng really sweet of well "cute" it is just an affectionate term to me among others.
I think guys take this way too seriously. Most of the guys Iβve called βcuteβ have not been in the friendzone. Itβs a compliment like any other.
Not at all, when my girlfriend says that I am cute I know it is a term of affection. That's not a bad thing.
