"and issue that is bigger than [one] film"

.. This little "Correction" bothers me way more than it should.

The statement "I consider this an issue bigger than film" is saying:
"This is more important than film"

The statement "I consider this an issue bigger than ONE film" is saying:
"We need to fix MORE movies in order to fix this issue"

Maybe I'm reading to deeply into this but if you read the two statements back to back they are saying opposite things.

And someone changed it because it made more sense as a FEMINIST statement that way.

EVEN THOUGH IT ALREADY WAS A FEMINIST STATEMENT.

    jeez

I'm not a feminist, partly because they haven't proven to me that the wage gap (77 cents to every male dollar) is due to sexism. A lot of them aren't really good at math/statistics honestly, which is why they still peddle this myth even though the U. S. department of labour already debunked it, along with many other independent groups

I'm black, male, and a feminist. I'm for equality. I've seen man-hating so-called feminists and minorities that also bash those they consider to be better off. Equality is where it's at, sister. Equality is where I'm going, brother. Call me any name you wish but I want to go to a place where the people around me care more about who I am than those first three things I mentioned. Allegiance isn't about groups you belong to. Allegiance is about individuals you belong to. I realize the idea of belonging to people might be offensive to some but I don't believe we are in this alone.

This is feminism in action. So they're basically supporting this.

I really, really loathe that Asian looking woman who said 'Those men rights groups are actually hate groups'. The irony of that is that she's actually going against her own ideology lol.

If she was a real 'feminist', she would allow these 'Men's rights' groups to form and help/support men, because that's what she wants, right? ...

Not only do they turn against the police by insulting them and calling them "pigs" (who are neutral/passive at this point), but some random 'Feminist' decides to pull the Nazi salute... I mean, what the fuck is wrong with these people?

Not one of those quotes identified the men as feminists.

Instead, they identified themselves as holding with ideals, which USED to be associated with feminism.

When will you accept that for many people, Feminism as a name is too tarnished with horrific baggage to mean what you think it still means?

no i am not a feminist, since the claimed pursuit of "equality" is one sided. i´ve never seen a feminist fighting for male affairs.

and i don´t need celebs to show me how to behave or what to think.

great, this again. Yes, this is feminism, but so is the manhating missandrists.
The problem witf "feminism" isn't that it's one idea, but rather a collective of ideas. Sadly some of them are REALLY bad.

I support EQUALITY, but i do not support all sides of feminism. Also they're not mutually inclusive, so stop that bullshit please. I believe in the UN definition of equalism, not the utopian idea of "feminism" we see today.

I find that last quote so bizarre its not even funny: "I actually trust the women I know... I trust them with their children... I trust they are decent enough... to carry the right of [murdering their own child]" O. O
    Outrageous.

I just don't see why it matters how celebrities self-identify. You do realize they could be... lying to appeal to feminists and women in general, right? I mean they act like other people for a living, couldn't they be doing that here?

I think strong independent women are great... feminism not so much. Egalitarianism is the way, people who disagree stand in the way of progress.

Men could also go up to a random woman and say "hey, I'm a feminist" and be lying about it.

@Little_J That's my whole point. I'd imagine plenty of men do that just to get laid by unsuspecting feminists. I for one take my word very seriously. Plus I don't need to lie to get women.

The thing is you don't know if they are lying, you THINK they are. But in reality you don't know.

Let me try this again. Some guys have probably lied about being feminists to get laid, no? If we can assume that's true as it seemingly is then we can probably conclude that there is a chance it will happen again, no? The amount doesn't really matter because it wasn't my point to begin with.

My point is that I don't see the point of caring what these guys think or claim to think largely because I think there appears to be a strong chance they are lying to get the attention of feminists. Not to mention that they are actors... even if they were telling the total truth (and I strongly doubt they are) what difference does it make?

I think that women are equal, but there are things that only a woman can do and things only men can do.
I think that women should get an equal pay for the same job that man does.

They do get equal pay, the 23-cent gap is calculated by literally comparing unemployed stay at home moms to male CEO's.

To say that it's only women that need empowering in today's society reduces all of our social ills down to male vs. female and that's no where near accurate. That's why I don't call myself a feminist in place of simply a humanist, if anything at all.

There was a time when I supported feminism but not now. Not for a long time actually.

Saying feminism is about gender equality is so ingenuousness it makes me ill.

alright if it's for everyone then let's call it maninism instead. even if we ignore the sexist name of this ideology, we still cannot overlook their hypocrisy. i understand why women like it because it gives the so many advantages over everyone else but if you haven't understood why feminism is unfair and discriminatory by yourself, then i wouldn't try to explain it to you because obviously you can't or don't want to understand. and it's obvious why these simps claim to be feminists but you can't see that either i guess

I support equality of opportunity under the law for everyone.

I do not and never will support stupidity that requires equality of outcome. If I work at a job for one year and am 50% as efficient as another at the same company location who has done the same job longer, no, I should not be paid the same amount.
