It's funny how I keep seeing these propaganda post, stating how feminism is FOR EQUALITY.

Instead of constantly reminding everyone with propaganda, how about make people believe you with your actions!

To this date Feminism has done NOTHING to prove it is for equality, and everything to show it is for superiority over men.

There are endless accounts of feminist doing everything in their power to STOP males from fighting for issues regarding men.

I'm a feminist and I do lots of things for human rights. I actually care for equality and don't like being labeled with a bunch of things that doesn't apply to me. Here are examples of what I've done: I've collected money for unaccompanied refugee children (and not just girls if that's what you'd apply), I work voluntarily at an orphanage during the summer (again, it isn't a "girls only orphanage"), I've written lots of articles on human rights (and thus the rights and issues of both men and women) and I've also collected money to help child soldiers (male, I might add) etc. How does this make me not wanting equality? And also, what are your "proofs" of wanting equality, now that we apparently need to have proof of our beliefs?

First of all, the reason for a request of "Proof for your beliefs" came because of the constantly NEED of the group to propagandize itself for equality when its actions are all but proof.

Your help in humanitarian issues is great. But I don't see how any of them show a desire for equality,
just because men are also the people being helped.

Proof of the desire for equality would be a feminist group helping raise awareness of men's issues as well as females. Instead of trying to constantly shut them down when men try bringing them to the foreground.
They would need to stop falsifying information to hype up women's issues or marginalize men's issues.
Examples: Wage gap is not real. Stop the misinformation, it doesn't show a fight for equality but a desire to get paid more money for less work. Ex: Female tennis players now get paid equal to men but only work 3 sets not the male 5 sets. Therefore get paid more overall. Yet feminism fought for this.

Rape stats: 1 in 4 is bullshit, they shouldn't include regret, feeling obligated, or being misled, they also don't consider men, and men who are raped are either ridiculed or have been shamed into coming forward, so the numbers can't possibly be accurate. If Feminism is for equality, they would not be pushing these skewed stats and marginalizing male victims. They would fight against false rape claims which make it hard for real victims of rape.

Domestic Violence:
Fight to stop the societal belief that it is ok to hit men (in public, on tv, in movies)
Fight against false claims which destroy mens lives and marginalize real victims of domestic abuse.
Fight to have male victims of DV taken as seriously as women, get them shelters.

But I don't see feminist groups doing these things. They often say that is up to men to fight for, but when men try they fight to stifle it or shut them down, how is that equality?

If feminist didn't agree with all the negative things other feminist did, why don't they speak out against them instead of studying them in "social justice" classes and re-quoting them constantly.
If these people are the idols of your group, then you are followers of that doctrine and therefore can not claim to be for equality.

Also, 50 Shades of Gray, the BDSM movie about a woman "falling" for a creepy, violent, threatening, stalking sociopath who makes her sign a sex contract and demands she not even look at him while they're fucking, is just about at the 500 million dollar mark. Honestly, I'm really sick of feminists claiming they are for "equality." I mean, if you're for equality, you would actively work for the equal rights of ALL groups of people, not just one specific group. I never hear about feminists speaking about male issues in society. In fact, most self-proclaimed feminists don't even acknowledge that males have issues worth addressing. You can claim you're for equality all you want but actions speak louder than words.

Ironically, I saw a video today, there were two women talking about feminism. They both claimed that they wanted equality, however, the next words out of their mouths was, "feminism is not about making women superior to men, although we are better, obviously" and then they laughed like it was no big deal. Unfortunately, I've heard many feminists say things like that and that's only succeeding in turning more people against their movement.

I also don't like how feminists get mad when a woman says she isn't a feminist. When I have told women this in the past, they look at me like I'm the devil or something. I mean, just because a woman doesn't identify as a feminist doesn't mean she is against women's rights. I simply prefer to be an egalitarian which is the true movement of equality for ALL groups of people.

The problem with feminist's is that it's a fractured group. There are women who call themselves feminists but their beliefs are almost the exact opposite from other self-proclaimed feminists. i. e. some argue p*rn should be outlawed as it shames women while others think it should be encouraged as an expression of female sexual freedom. I stand for all people's and animals rights. But as I do that, I also stand for women and men being equals which is why I'm also a feminist on top of that. And I actually do work for mens rights too and have written lots of articles on mens issues and rights in the society (the most recently about male children being forced to participate in war). I get your point, there are people who say that they are feminists when they actually don't stand for feminism. But at least I (and I think lots of feminists will agree with me) aren't the kind of person that you described. I also don't liike being stereotyped as a manhating woman all the time just because I label myself a feminist when being a feminist actually means that I want equality, just like you.

The definition of feminism is: The advocacy of women's rights (not men's rights) on the grounds of social, political, and economical equality to men. A feminist is someone that advocates feminism. Feminism is such a failed movement. Women want equality but only in areas that suits them. Have them start paying alimony or having to give up half their earnings in child support to their husbands. Personally and it may just be my personal experiences, but most guys seem overly hormonal these days. Quick to act aggressively and lose their temper and also seemingly unable to exercise control over their libidos. So i don't buy the male superiority line.

I know what feminism is and that doesn't change because of different persons opinions. And no, men and women aren't equal from all perspectives on rights. For example they have different salaries for the same work, men have more powerful positions overall (there are more male managers, more males have political power etc.), women are generally and statistically still expected to care for the household on a higher level than men (=more unpaid work) etc. But since you just said that equality already exist I guess you think that this is equal :)

Firstly, no there are plenty of statistics on the unequal payment, at least here in sweden it isn't equal. I also know this by experience and I have friends/relatives that have experienced being payed less than men who started at the same time or had the same experiences.
Actually the majority of people on earth who have a high education are women, and besides that I don't see how you mean that one gender have more skills, talents and politics than another? haha I'd love to see the statistics on that! Don't know about Sweden, but here in the US the alleged "women only make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes" has been proven false, that stat was created by comparing the income of stay at home moms to the income of male doctors.

Can't speak too much for the private sector as there are too many variables, but for political office when a man and a woman run against each other and the woman loses, it isn't because she's a woman, it's because her male rival was more in tune with more voters. Take the Texas Gubernatorial race last year, you had an anti-gun, pro-abortion, big government woman versus a pro-gun, anti-abortion, small government man, Wendy Davis didn't lose because she was a woman, she lost because she was completely out of touch with Texas voters.

John Legend is just plain naive to think that. Women can be just as brutal, ruthless, and destructive as anyone else. Men can also have the capacity to be tender, compassionate, and empathetic.

As for Prince Harry? My question then is what's to problem with encouraging women to be wives and mothers then? After all, the family is the basic cornerstone of society. Kind of hard to improve a family if it doesn't exist to begin with...

In the end, why should I give a rip if these guys are feminists? It does nothing to in any way change my opinion that feminism does more harm than good in today's culture. I admire, respect, and appreciate women. That does not, DOES NOT make me a feminist. Neither does it make anyone a feminist who appreciates women and their gifts that that offer society. It just makes them grateful and decent human beings.

Joss Whedon is pretty embarrassing when he gets on his rants about it. If I want a female lead, I make one. I let her grow organically. If some of them are as tough as the men, fine. If not, fine. The weaker ones can still serve a vocation. Not all the men have to be badass either.

Writers let things grow organically. They don't always try to suppress the opposite sex; they write what they know. If women in their lives are content to confine themselves to certain roles and no other, then that's the writer's frame of reference.

Modern Hollywood feminists like Whedon, however, see intentional sexism in everything even where it doesn't exist. And their ideas on how to "fix" it show a sad sort of immaturity. Unfortunately, women who try to "fix" it often get told - by major, male-owned, left-wing publications, that they're "not doing it right." And then their stuff gets hijacked and used to cram lesbian p*rn down the viewer's throat. All very pathetic, really.

Feminism is as intellectually honest as any other radical religious group. Sure there will be some who are not tinfoil hat crazy but they aren't the ones who matter.

It's the ones who make it legal to murder your husband, prefiteer from divorce, eradicate due process, prevent half the population from having parental rights or access to social services and ensure special treatment+funding for half the population based on gender at the cost of the other half. Those are the ones who matter, those ARE!! the "Real" Feminists.

If your a feel good internet/coffee shop Feminist then you are part of the problem because you are giving legitimacy and money to the real hatemongers.

I'm not a feminist exactly, I believe in equality for everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc. We're all human, we all bleed red (and if you don't you should really see a doctor about that, that's not healthy) we all live and die someday, and i mean think about it, we're all made up of skin and bones. It's stupid that people get treated differently for being "inferior" or "different" when really we are all the same.
