I gave my crush my number but why hasn't he texted me yet?

So there's this guy i like he only talks to me in class when my friends aren't around which i really don't mind but when I'm talking to them he usually just stares at me from the other side of the room and when i look over at him he'll quickly look away. Anyways since school is almost over for me, yesterday i decided to give my crush my number and all he said was "Thank you." and walked off its been nearly a day he still hasn't texted me yet and also i seen him around school today and all he did was look at me and continued talking to his friends i don't know if I'm just overreacting or what. by the way he is a jock and will only talk to me when he's not around his friends and when I'm not around mine. I just really need some opinions on why he's not texting me :/

It just means he does not feel like texting. I got my crushes number one time and I did not text him for 3 three weeks. Don't make a big deal of it. If anything you should have asked him for his number.
