What does the lingering look mean...

So, I met this guy through a friend. She and I have been MORE than friendly with each other. But he doesn't care. In fact he doesn't care about ANYTHING! But, he's kind of like me. My friend has said that he and I have instant Chemistry. But mostly we , or I, just spend all our time together trying to not kill each each other. He makes me want to pull my hair out. To say he drives me crazy would be the understatement of the year.

But one time it was the three of us hanging out, but he was different. He was nice to me in his own twisted way. I was in uncharted territory. He wasn't like flirty, but he kept looking at me. And not like at my boobs, like most guys, but he looked at my face. He was staring at my eyes. I texted my friend asking if there was something on my face. I had let her do my make up in Sefora, I don't usually wear make up, I asked her if my liner had smudged or something. She told me no and that I looked great. But he just continued to ask out of character. He walked up to the Metro that day, he hugged My friend and then he kind of just stood there and stared at me for like a minute. He didn't say anything, and he only looked away when my friend cleared her throat.

Since then, he's looked at me never. But he's agreed to give my Drum lesson, for free, with out me having to argue with him for it. He' just being A LOT nicer. Do you think the lingering stares mean anything.. Or was it just because I looked different...

We never got around to the drum lessons, because soccer got in both of our ways. But he is way flirty now and a helluva lot nicer. I thought it was a sign he liked me until today when he asked me If I liked this other guy. Who's a mutual friend.
