I've heard that if a guy texts you "Heyy" using 2 y's every times he texts you it means something? is that true?

Ok, let's put this into perspective from where I'm sitting so you can see yourself from the outside looking in.
You're literally wondering, based on the amount of y's a person types a word with, if a certain spelling means that he's thinking, meaning, or implying something from that. Nevermind trying to analyze how he acts around you, his body language, and things like that... you're looking at a text, seeing 2 y's, and going "Oh my goodness, what does this mean?"
Does this not strike you as being really odd?
I honestly never thought anything of it at first, because you're right it's just a text, but from what I've heard from some guy friends, and girl friends it's a way of trying to flirt so I just want to know if that's actually true? As far as body language goes he's always so shy around me, but so blunt through text! You guys can be really confusing sometimes!
No, HE can be confusing at times. If I knew you in person, you'd reject me in all likelihood for being too forward and avoiding all the silly social games. This guy isn't even at the point of playing all the dating games since he's already struggling with shyness, as you said.
If you knew me in person, you would know that i'm really straightforward and rather have a guy be awkward, but still make his interest clear, rather then beat around the bush in person, and leave me to wonder what his incentives were through text lol but yes the shyness is the main thing that gets in the way because I'm an extravert and i'm still wondering how to deal with shy guys as I seem to interact with them a lot for some reason.
I hear that a lot from people, and is a trait that I still rarely see in people (being straightforward). I've heard blunt, sarcastic, and any number of these newly desirable traits that people say they are. So you being a "really straightforward" person doesn't mean much, especially when you're trying to analyze the number of y's in a text rather than trying to get to the bottom of things with a shy guy you're into. That's where I'm coming from with this.
Lol i see what you mean, but bro calm down it was just a question lol also, I never said I was into him, and I'm definitely not into him the way that he is with me, but what you're getting at is that i'm not "straightforward" enough to tell him all of this face to face right? Well I also have feelings and I know he does too, and him being shy makes this a very sensitive situation as I want to let him know i'm not interested (in person) but not make him feel bad about it (if that's even possible)
Why do people tell me to calm down on this site when I'm just giving a straight up answer with no sugar? lol This site is odd.
If you're trying to let him down, just do it. He'll survive alright. If he does end up taking it super personally, then how is that still your problem if you let him down in a reasonable manner?
See it’s really hard to tell through text/social media what people really mean because you can’t hear it in their voice, but yes i realize this was a stupid question, but I just wanted opinions from other people which you’ve done a good enough job at lol but the only reason it's my problem is because we have a few mutual friends, and he's goes to my school so it might be awkward but i'm kinda used to it at this point so it's whatevs
I wouldn't say stupid, just odd as I put it in my original answer. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me when my fellow youngin's will actually avoid just talking outright with each other, and instead put all these technological barriers, clues, and whatnot between themselves and the other person.
And I work in IT, so I'm a techie lol. But I still don't see how people let themselves get so reliant on technology that they complicate things more than they help them. So yeah, my vote is to just be outright with this guy instead of looking for the small (and sometimes meaningless) things.
Preach! and ok yeah I will
you don't know the rules?
Nevermind this is the best answer of the night lol!
It's me and no thing lol. Its just his style of texting
Asked same question
It is flirting/sexual
i've heard that it's a way of flirting but if it is i think it's stupid!

THERE ARE NO RULES TO THIS SHIT. i wish people would just stop making ridiculous contradictory standards about texting etiquette and just be direct with each other. you can't infer an extra y on the end means "i want you to blow me" without sounding like a neurotic psychobitch so even if that is what it means just dont give a shit
Having two "Y" at the end of a "Hey" doesn't mean anything. If he want to say something, he'll say it. If he doesn't, then he hasn't yet found the courage to be direct with you. Not trying to be a dick, but if a guy is beating around the bush by texting with two "Y" because it's supposed to mean "Something" that's just silly... let him just ask you out or be straight with him yourself. Ask him how he feels about you. This double y thing is just hilarious.
You are over analyzing his words, or rather the spelling of a single word. The rest of what he says and does would have so much more meaning than this single aspect of his texts, it has no real substance for analyses.
This doesn't mean anything, he just thinks that when he texts you saying "heyy" sounds friendlier or better than saying just "hey." Don't think about it too much.
It just means he can't type.
best answer of the night lol
Haha. But seriously, typing like that usually just means they think it's "cute" or whatever, when it's actually just dumb. Well, at least I find it dumb. Haha.
Seems like I'm only the second best answer of the night to you after all...
It is dumb yes! and no worries, this whole thing has turned out to be a joke, and that's my answer lol
I wouldn't know. I almost always ignore guy's texts because they are crude and sexual
You're overthinking.
Why is this question unnecessarily Anonymous?
I very highly doubt you can tell if someone likes you based on the number of 'y's in hey.
Yes it means he doesn't bother to text you properly and this message should be left with no reply
I've never heard of that it's probably just something he does just because
Maybe he's trying to write like Fonzie sounded... heyyyyy
haha. i dont think so. just his way to type i guess
It's possible he likes you, buttttt I wouldn't look in to it
For me just seems that typo
Its applied every time a girl has liked me.
No, it doesn't mean anything.
Might just be a typo...
Never heard of that.
Nah.
