Its something I've read in studies, most men who cheat indicate the person they cheated with is less attractive than their main partner.
That's especially true when you're younger.
I'd suggest there are two reasons:
- generally speaking men can land more in demand women in a relationship then for casual or NSA sex on the side. For women, its the opposite - they can get a guy who is out of their league for dating to screw them quietly. Females in semi-monogamous species in nature cheat to get a higher quality partner, men in nature cheat to get -more- partners and human instincts seem to follow that pattern.
- i would suggest that most often when a man is cheating, if he wanted to leave his partner and date the person he's cheating with, he could. If the person he's cheating with is better looking than his regular partner... he's likely to do exactly that.
Why do men cheat? Some are habitual cheaters. Some cheat when they feel trapped and unhappy. Given you're talking about relationships, not marriages with kids, I'd guess you've dated lots of habitual cheaters. In this case, the problem is who you choose, not how you act in a relationship.
This is a matter of how the guy is treated, how he feels and what he is not getting in the relationship. Though there are guys out there that think with their dicks before anything else. A guy who really is into his girl, and she is totally into him will not cheat. Simple as that. Temptation is not that tempting when you have the golden goose at home.
If you are all that and a bag of chips you are either dating some seriously shitty men, you treat them badly, or you are emotionally distant.

Though the opposite side of the same question can be posed to you here, why do women cheat, and why is it usually with uglier guys? Its the same answers.
Think about the relationships and the guys you have dated, there will be a common denominator that will be apparent. Even if you say there is nothing similar about them, I am willing to bet there is.
As stated above, real men dont cheat.
They enjoy the fact that another woman likes them and the idea of having two women is awesome to them.
Also, there's been studies which have said that guys who feel intimidated by their attractive girlfriend cheat with uglier girls who they consider are more in their "league". I guess that makes them feel more in control and less intimidated but of course they're going to hold onto their super attractive girlfriend.
The same thing happened to me though the girl was fairly attractive. The guy wasn't attractive, just very cocky and thought he could get any girl but he's been single ever since he cheated (3 years or so) whilst I've had two boyfriends since, so hopefully that's given him a reality check haha.
Some guys just can't say no to temptation. If a woman is wiling, they'll take it, regardless of her looks.
The option of sex is there. Most like the thrill that they won't get caught.

Because the woman he's with doesn't fulfil him in the bedroom so he goes somewere else to get fulfilled.
Its the same thing when a girl cheats, its because the guy isn't doing things to fulfil her sexually.
doesn't matter if their ugly or not. LOL Just matters about the sex sweety, cause at that point in time, thats all their looking for.
But a real person, weather their horny or not, should not cheat and should express himself/herself to his partner to do what they want in the bedroom. A coward and selfish piece of shit, does not.
Be happy that he's gone, you will find better.

Most men cheat because they either
1) have a girlfriend that doesn't have sex enough to satisfy his needs,
or
2) is just one of those guys that "is always seeking sexual variety" and got tired of his girlfriend (aka, he wants to fuck a brunette now, or fuck a white girl instead of an Asian one, or wants to fuck a chubby girl instead of a slender one).

The second type of dude will NEVER be satisfied with just one woman in a monogamous relationship without swinging, so he will always be a cheater.
because ugly women are far more attainable. Someone who cheats with a less attractive person than their significant other is malcontent in their current relationship, and is looking to stray. Someone who cheats with a person more or equally attractive simply has limited willpower.
If a woman grows distant from her man for any reason, when love fades, then his mind will wander.
If any man has all of his woman's heart, her soul, her body, her tender affections, I do not believe he will ever cheat. I am not talking about a boyfriend girlfriend arrangement but in the sanctity of marriage.
Men cheating on their spouses is not always relative to their spouses looks. Some guys simply want variety and will get it with who is available to them. Some guys cheat on their attractive spouses with less attractive women if they are not satisfied overall in their relationships. Then there are the guys who cheat just to cheat. Regardless of if they are satisfied at home.
Men don't cheat for looks. They cheat for sexual pleasure. A girl's exterior does not determine the quality of her vagina or her sexual skills.
You can be the most beautiful woman on earth but if you're stiff as a stick in bed it maybe boring to your past lovers.
Girls definition of beauty in women is different than guys. She is probably not ugly. And men do cheat for looks. If they are that type of dude.
You might be attractive but bad in bed, or just not kinky enough. Uglier girls are easier to get in bed and they have to be good to compensate.
It doesn't matter if she looks worse. There's no pussy like new pussy.
